  1. This is pending on what other plans go down for this night as well however. When Drew gets the chance to come back online, we'll see if he has found something else to do.
  2. Tell me about it. After I got my new tires, I was looking as how meaty the tread was (photo below). Then every time I'd go on a bit of a hard drive, I would have a loook at them again, and swear they were just wasting away. Now I look at them and they seem so worn out, but still nowhere near half, but it just seems like way more than that. The mind plays tricks on you sometimes. As for your tires dave262, when my Michelin's were like that and I was waiting for it to go just that little bit less before getting new tires, I found that it wore down to the tread wear indicator in about 3 weeks of my normal driving. I'd suggest replacing them at this point though because once the tires are to about that point, they start to loose their grippy properties and if it happens to rain, they aren't going to do you much good.
  3. For sure. I'm up for that. I'm pretty sure you said that last time as well :P
  4. Those mirrors should be a direct fit to our Aurion. The Camry guys over in the States have been able to fit the folding mower mirrors to their Gen 6's as well as our Aurion turn signal mirrors, so the fitment capability is there. The only thing I would be concerned about is the mirror glass itself. The Aurion's seem to be the only one with convex mirrors on both sides, whereas the Camry only has it on the passenger side. Swapping the glass over should be a simple process though. As for those handle lights... just seem a little cheap and tacky in my opinion.
  5. I was originally planning on joining in with Soube from Boost and his night time BBQ. Soube's Dinner 8/5/09, Friday Night BBQ Cruise Unless anyone can think of anything else, I was leaning towards this idea.
  6. Doesn't sound as smooth as DJKOR :P. And to quote Rowan at the end of that video, "209 champ, that's f*ing awesome". Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! As for the dyno results, Chris (00UCH) went first up, followed by me, then Rowan, and then Ash. The results for the N/A Aurion though are as follows: Chris - 193.1HP (144kW) Daryl - 209.9HP (156.5kW) Rowan - 199.7HP (149kW) Probably best not to consider my figure. More details are here.
  7. So who's going to be out tonight? I'm currently in Mooloolaba at the moment but should be able to make it if everything goes to plan.
  8. There was a time of greatness, but... ... The game has changed.
  9. You need to get yourself a rear skirt to break up the empty space in the bumper :P Just teasing. If you want to fill in your reflectors, you can try to retrofit some reflectors into that inner most circular portion on the boot lid light. That space is currently used for nothing. Edit: Damn, now I want to fill in my reflectors.
  10. LOL, someone got a bit short changed on their weapons. I personally would go for Arnie as well. He's a machine. It would only be a showdown between him and Stallone since the other two don't have the brute strength to last. Off-topic: Man I stall can't stop laughing every time I see news clips showing Arnie talking government issues. But seriously, if you were given the option to vote for him as your Governor... why wouldn't you. It's just funny.
  11. Seems black to me in the pics that show it.
  12. The link doesn't work for me mate. Just to sum it up, how much are we looking at? You know you wanna...
  13. One possible problem area for your headlights could be the headlight relay itself. If you stand near the fuse box in the engine bay and get someone to turn on your lights, do you hear a delayed click after they turn your headlights on? The relays aren't that much to replace and may be worth changing over if you are willing. AS for the interior light, it is possible that it could be coincidence, or it could in fact be another issue completely that is affecting your headlights since the dome light doesn't have a relay.
  14. Good to hear that you like how it drives. Can't do it without pulling it apart and adding some tint to the inside or changing the LED's. It sure is bright the way it is standard. I'm surprised they never revised its design over the months.
  15. LOL. Good find Andrew. Now his Toyota looks more like a Suzuki concept. I'm not a fan of that design on the Aurion. It really seems messed up. I also think the black on the front is TOO glossy.
  16. working but was pushed over their limits? is Michelin Energy a rip off? is there an alternative that is similar or better in noise and grip? That's the thing. If they are squeeling and you are not really pushing them, it meas they are working hard when it shouldn't be and it is not particularly good cause it means less grip when you take it harder. I'm a little biased so mind my answer, but when it was time to change my tires, the Michelin Energy MXV8 was $199 per corner and I could get the Potenza Adrenalin's for $235 per corner, so I spent just that little bit extra and the difference is night and day. Actually seemed quieter than the Michelins as well which was quite surprising.
  17. All Aurion's have the same rear bracing so there are no split fold rear seats in any Aurion. According to Toyota, the 2GR-FE gives 204kW when running on premium unleaded. I would say that when they refer to premium, they would be referring to 95 octane upwards. I guess the main advantage is just a cleaner fuel.
  18. 1) Contains the wiring for steering wheel controls and speed sensor. Refer to plug 3 below. 2) Not used. Well mine wasn't present anyways. 3) Contains the wiring for the rear speakers. Refer to plug 2 below. 4) Contains the wiring for power and front speakers, etc. Refer to plug 1 below. 5 & 6) Both used for antenna. Not both are required. Just use whichever one is on your aftermarket head unit. As for the wiring, I'm one step ahead of you:
  19. New member here eh? Took a bit of time after floating around on Toyota Nation :P Just messing with ya. Really nice Gen 6 you have there. Definitely unique.
  20. LOL. I knew that he was a bit of a joke, but never really seen any footage as such.
  21. Definitely in for this one. Should be fun. Thanks for letting me borrow your helmet mate.
  22. S mode or not, when I need it to kick down a gear, my foot is most likely to the floor. After driving mine in both for quite a bit, I find the kick down is the same in D as it is in S, but only when you are driving it with a little bit of passion when it is in D. The kick-down is primarilly determined by how much you push the accelerator down, and how quickly you do this given the current load/gear/speed. In D mode if you drive it easy for a little bit, the kick-down is a little slower, but once you give it a brief hard drive, it will soon change just the same as S mode. Like SupaTouring said, in S mode it basically bypasses it's learning ECU and runs off a single set of parameters. You can get this same set of parameters in D mode, it's just a matter of getting it to do that, and stay that way. Drive it hard all the time.... both modes are basically the same.
  23. +1 As for calling it 'Sports' mode, Toyota don't really refer to it as such, it's called 'Sequential' mode. Even still though, it isn't really that. I guess it is when you consider that the gear stick will behave like one, but that's about it.
  24. In reply to PaulMT: Prior to Toyota detecting these dash rattles on your recent service, ever since you had the first 'fix', have you personally noticed any extra yourself? If you haven't, then I would leave it as is. If you did notice that the dash rattles weren't resolved though, then you can think about whether you want to get it re-done or not. How did you manage to double post 21 minutes apart?
