Excel.... I just LOL at the name. Seriously, the body panels on them feel like they are made out of tinplate.

Nothing really fancy to see really. Both of them were a disappointment. I was expecting like a full set of decent photos or something like that. Anyways, I don't think we can post links here being a 'family' site and all, but if you Google 'Totally NSFW Rihanna', you will find what you are looking for, also has links to photos of Cassie. A bit of old news kinda. BTW: Cassie is some singer that did that song 'Me & U'. Never seen the chick until these photos. Never liked the song either.

If you find it hard to drive at 40km/h for 100m or so, then get off the road, you can't control your vehicle at all. I'd hate to see you in a carpark then, you'd be bouncing off cars left right and centre. Yes it seems slow, but that's the point of school zones - the slower you go, the more likely you are to see and react in time to a little kid jumping out from behind a car. School zones are one area where I think that the speed limit is perfectly acceptable, plus it's perfectly acceptable for the cops to set up radar traps there because speeding through a school zone _is_ dangerous, even moreso than on a normal road. +1 Yes I do speed a fair bit, but a school zone is one place I definitely keep to the limit and I have no issues with doing so either. On the topic of 40 zones, a majority of the CBD here is now 40km/h. I can see how they may have jumped to that conclusion given how many pedestrians there are in the CBD, but I think 40 throughout the city is just a little too slow. They could have put it at 50km/h. Most people who are walking around are mainly adults who you think would have better judgement, and the ones that run across busy roads take their own risks.

I saw that cop turn around at that intersection and that was about it. I didn't see what was going on. -

I said stock rotors? I'm sure I said slotted rotors. Anyways, I think part of it comes from the quality of the rotor, the other part will come from better cooling. I'm researching ways to get more air to flow to the rotors when the car is moving. Also, I think part of the rotor warping came from idiots who tightened my wheel nuts with a rattle gun. -
HID's in a reflector housing will create a bit of glare. Putting 8000k in there will be slightly dimmer than 6000k and you should be fine with most cops. You have blue number plate lights anyways and don't seem to have issues there, so I reckon you would be fine. If I was to suggest a kit, I would suggest most kits you find on eBay. They do the trick just fine. I have bought from the eBay seller 'SUNSTAR-HID' and haven't had any issues with 3 different sets. It's really up to you how much you want to spend on re-assurance.

I'm not gonna take my car to the track until I change my rotors. They are starting to really loose it now. -

Most definitely Daryl. I'm watching a movie at Indro at 6:30pm, should be there just a little past 9. -
A good compromise, but then again.... I didn't buy my HID's for seeing things on the road any better. It's all about the looks for me. My eyesight is fine as it is and the HID's at 8000k don't seem to be an issue yet. I'm actually tempted to go up to 10,000k now. Most OEM HID's are usually 4,300k. Some go up to 5000k, but 4,300k is the most common. What makes it really blue is all in the design of the projector. The ones on the Aurion are built for halogen and aren't always the best optics. HID projectors on the other hand are constructed of better quality and are designed for the lamp being used.

Well, after getting a 1/4 mile time that was not as satisfying as I was hoping to be, I decided to hit the strip for some more goes. This is the end result, with my third run being my best: Run 1: 14.200 @ 99.36 mph - stalled somewhere between 1000 and 1500RPM. Brakes slipped so I just released it and floored it. I thought I was stuffed cause I messed it up... I guess not. Run 2: 14.424 @ 99.61 mph - got a little too excited and stalled it up to 2500RPM... axle tramp cost me the run. Run 3: 14.131 @ 99.29 mph - stalled it up to 1300RPM... launched very cleanly. Run 4: 14.152 @ 98.75 mph - stalled it up to 1600RPM... tires chirped and wasted the fractions of a second. And the time slip, even though some V8 completely whooped me:

A great night was had by all (Dave, Mick, and Myself). I'm pretty sure we all left satisfied. As for my results, I will direct you over here: Took my Aurion to The drags

Nothing is best for penetrating through rain than yellow light. That's why you see those yellow fog lights. At least the HID's are good for lighting up street signs and road markings. That helps in the wet.
-
You TRD's and you better brakes. I start braking one the surface of the road changes, maybe I'll try braking those milliseconds earlier to reduce the effects.
-
Till my brakes fell like they are going to.... um.... break. After last time, I will remember to downshift to aid in braking since that shudder was horrible. Did yours sound kinda intense Rowan? oh man my car was bunny hopping there was so much break shutter lol Yeah, it was starting to get like that. I just remember watching the 400, then 300, then 200 markers fly by and thinking that my brakes were absolutely useless. Definitely a good eye opener to tell me what I HAVE to do before I hit the track. Plus improve the cooling to it.

... And it is paired with a manual box. Oh I wish the Aurion had one.

Did somebody call my name? :D I'm just busy at work so can't be on as much as I used to be. Anyways, lets see how I go: I will take note and ammend the FAQ's when I get the chance. There was a link there to a good thread (LED and HID and Kangaroos), but I guess I should reword the text surrounding it. Back on topic, yes your low beams and fog lights both use the H11 style bulb base. As for the cost of the kits, I will be repeating myself, but to save time: I've had some pretty good luck with the cheap kits and don't have any issues with them. When you think about it, a HID lamp is pretty precise in construction as is the ballast that is used to drive it. There has to be some form of standards used when making these things otherwise the simplest of inaccuracies can cause them not to work in the first place. As for the colour temperature of 7000k, even though it is possible, it is not common to find. I would stick with either 6000k if you want something really bright (very pure white), or 8000k if you want something that looks good (more bluish white). Bearing in mind, even though the 8000k is not as bright as 6000k, it is still WAY brighter than halogen. Of course you can. The kits that are around the $60-$100 come in all bulb designs.

Records are made to be challenged Rowan. I just get a little over-competitive sometimes and want to be the one that someone has to beat. I'm not confident about beating you though. This isn't going to be easy. My car is at the same level of trim that it was last time. I think this will probably be the last time at the drags for me. Pulling my sub and spare out is so tedious.

You should probably rename the title so that it says 'eyelids'. That way when someone does a search with the correct name, they can find this thread. Anyways:

Mate, work on your punctuation!!!!!!! <_< Won't give a sh!t if it isn't because i'm having a headache trying to understand even the simplest of English you are attempting. -------------------- Can I add; the 6spd in the stivo is not my favourite in terms of ratios, especially 6th. Get a celica one instead. Would that fit? -------------------- Is that better? You think the original one's bad? It can't be as bad as the guys over at Toyota Nation. Surely we aren't becoming that picky and unable to make an understanding of what we read. Look at this; they are getting picky over a simple thread title: LED Tailights & Turn Signal Mirror Mod In grammar, theres something called parallelism, something that is huge on the new SATs. Here's an improper example of parallelism: 1) I had a red bucket and a wagon when I was young. Grammatically, this would be considered incorrect (at least on the SATs), because the noun bucket was preceded by the adjective red. Thus, the noun wagon should be preceded by an adjective to balance the sentence out. Here is a proper example of parallelism: I had a red bucket and a red wagon when I was young. This is correct, with parallelism being reinstated. However, the original sentence, I had a red bucket and a wagon... In most cases, the adjective red would be unconsciously applied to both bucket and wagon, based upon appearance and connotation. LED Tailights & Turn Signal Mirror Mod If you really want to be grammatically correct, you would say LED taillights & nonLED turn signal mirrors. However, since parallelism is not prevalent here, the LED would be unconsciously applied to both the taillights and to the turn signal mirrors. This would mean that both would be LEDs, according to the OP. Since Njerald has more experience in these mirrors than any of us, the turn signals probably fails to have LEDs. As for implying that it does in the title, yes it does have LEDs.

They do have the potential to work, but it's not a guarantee. It may be money well spent, it may not. Should have posted this in a more general section to get a few more responses.

If you were planning on using this, you would be best to use it together with a radar/lidar detector. That way you have the jammer on all the time and when the detector picks up on the source, you slow down then turn the jammer off so they can get a reading. Otherwise if they constantly get a jammed signal, they may pull you over then you will most likely be busted then. I'm trying to locate the documentation, but using a radar/lidar detector and/or jammer is illegal in all states except for Western Australia. Edit: Here we go - TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (ROAD USE MANAGEMENT-ROAD RULES) REGULATION 1999 Page 202: And with one penalty unit in Queensland being $75... that's a $3000 maximum fine. Found the document details from here (also shows other states): Radar/Laser Detectors: Laws in Australia

Yeah, I guess that should be fine. Shouldn't be overly busy at the strip do you think?

From Toyota Genuine Parts in the USA Go easy on the text eh. And it's a tail-light. Though if you were trying to link the image of the headlight, then same answer as above.

Should be interesting to see this one as it comes along. Take care when pulling stuff apart eh. I haven't seen a Redback in ages actually.
