Thanks for that. Just had a look at their site just then. Definitely something I am going to order once I get the chance.

He may want to take it to the track. Brake fade on the stock discs and pads will cost those extra seconds. While on the topic of brakes, I think I should do mine soon. The rotors are giving a little vibration so instead of shaving them, I may as well get some new ones. Then I'll definitely be ready for track in June.

Yeah, I was like "damn; this is what I've been missing out on". Next Wednesday I will have an Ultra Racing rear sway bar to add to the mix. I don't know about the springs yet. Still something to consider. Did that a bit today. It definitely felt more solid as in I could keep myself in my seat a little easier. Nothing outrageously improved, but certainly better than before. Going around roundabouts feel more solid as well.

For sure I wouldn't mind swapping the rims... out of all people though... it has to be you... the one person who makes me always feel like doing something to the Aurion. This is only going to lead to a bigger hole in my wallet. We all know what I'm going to think after seeing some good rims on my car.

Despite how good a Toyota is, I don't think it earns cred from the bogans. The difference is, we don't pike on a Toyota meet :P -
I'm definitely up for a drag just to experience it. I don't feel I will be so great with all that reaction time stuff, but oh wells. All I need to do is sort out a helmet. I won't mind buying one of my own because once I get my hands on a helmet, I'm definitely going to hit up the track.
-
Nah... get the Air Force coilovers . Can be riding on your nuts and still be able to go over speed bumps, etc.
-
My stupid question time again. Is it possible that a simple front strut brace alone can make a 'noticeable' difference? I'm not talking of a massive improvement but rather a change that is not just a placebo effect. After installing mine on my Aurion, I swear if feels more stable when taking corners and more solid when driving over an uneven surface. It's just hard to imagine that one length of metal can create a change that is immediately noticeable. Is it most likely all in my head?

Ahhh, the joy of having aftermarket mapping. iGO8 FTW. And it's only < 200MB. With this amount of fumbling around, everyone who wants the new maps for the Presara should put in a small contribution each and someone should hire a Presara and copy the DVD.

Not far off.... according to their specifications, you will get 200W RMS into a 4 ohm load. Yeah, it will be underpowered. It won't kill your woofers or anything as long as it's not clipping.
-
What amp have you got? Sometimes a model number will help. Otherwise to basically answer your question: Your amp would say 300W RMS when given a 2 ohm load. You will be able to run a 4 ohm subwoofer off it without a problem. It usually only becomes an issue when you present less of a load than what it's rated for (ie. a 2 ohm stable amplifier running a 1 ohm sub) and not the other way around. Just bear in mind though that if it can deliver 300W RMS for a 2 ohm sub, then it will deliver less power for a 4 ohm sub. That figure depends on the amp that you have. At a rough guestimate, I would say you would have a maximum of 200W RMS when your amp is connected to a 4 ohm sub.

Okay, I'm checking in early. I definitely will be there tomorrow. On a side note, damn Ultra Racing Australia has great service (thanks Luis). I ordered my strut brace on Saturday, not expecting a response back until Monday, but sure enough Luis got back to me only hours later and shipped it on Monday. My strut brace then arrived today which was a nice surprise. Top quality vendor we've got here. -
No need to feel bad about it. I used to watch Hi-5 when there was nothing else on TV. Like I said; I liked Charli. I think the Hi-5 target audience has to include the older guys somewhere, LOL.
-
^ KevO: True. Didn't pay attention to that. At least the first 3 on the Take 40 site are legit... cause that 4th one looks photoshopped in alright.... or is it photoshopped out. Hmmm.
-
Yeah, I know it's a couple of days old already, but I only just heard about it so I feel like posting it in the Club Lounge. Anyways, I don't see why people out there have to have such a problem with it. Like seriously, it's not like the kids that watch Hi-5 are going to be the ones looking through this magazine. On a side note, I've always liked Charli more than Kellie, but damn... how can you say no to a set like that. Former Hi-5 star Kellie Crawford's naughty new look in Ralph magazine draws anger Gallery: http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/galle...07115-1,00.html http://www.take40.com/artists/photo-galler...xy-ralph-photos

You've just made my day. Man, I thought that this bot was banned after the period of lacking posts. I guess it came back for more.
-
^ Nader: I hope you didn't spend too long on that post. Unfortunately you may not have been around at the time that we were getting all these posts from spam-bots. This Lisa happens to be one of them. Oh well, I guess once someone sifts through the Fast and the Furious comedy, they will come across one useful answer.

I think your eyes are playing tricks on you :P When you have HID's, anything looks yellow in comparison. Since Rowan doesn't have any HID's, there is no pure light on his car to compare to. But yeah, where is Rowan. He's got uni again. I thought that instantly means time to waste online

Thanks mate. Surely by removing those cats and modifying the exhaust as such, you car would have given you a check engine light (CEL/MIL). Did you put in any electronics to cancel that out? As well, light weight rims seem like a nice idea.

For the 2GR-FE, you should be fine to use a 5W40 oil (lol, Castrol Edge, the official oil of Fast & Furious) however for the best overall economy, a ~W30 oil is recommended. Being only slightly thicker than 30 weight oil, you shouldn't experience and bad long term effects but with this engine being relatively new, you can't always be 100%. It's you're choice if you want to continue using it. If you feel that it does the job for you, then stick with it. Please, please, please post some pics and even your dyno graph if you can. It's not that I don't believe you, but I don't believe you until I see it. Probably because Ash (SecaBoy) here got 248HP at the wheels and he has a TRD Aurion. Once again... photos please. I want to see this amazing look. As for the TRD kit, you aren't going to find anyone in Australia who sells it except for Toyota, and even still, it may be somewhat impossible to buy. Try looking into getting a TRD kit from Thailand if you want it. I am yet to hear of anyone who makes performance stuff specifically for the Aurion; with the exception of K&N and Fujita (even they are questionable when the word 'performance' comes into play).

*Puts on flame suit* You have made some pretty valid points in your post there, but as much as I would agree with what you're saying, words like that alone aren't going to have any impact on the issue. People tend to require a bit of convincing before they would change their minds and their habits. Things like this, people just tend to shrug off. It's like the whole 'smoking kills' campaigns. Putting a large warning and disgusting photo on the side of a cigarette box doesn't seem to deter anyone. Just how I see things though. I'm referring to the range of 10-20km/h over the limit. Purely just my take on the subject, not here to get counselled: Of course it isn't really worth it, but people don't tend to think along these lines at the time. If it's a habit, it will just happen regardless. Once one gets the feel for driving, it becomes a stage of competence known as 'unconscious competence'. It all becomes second nature and you don't really think about it. So if you aren't really thinking about your driving in general, if conditions around you seem clear enough, you aren't going to go into deep thought about what CAN happen. I speed on a daily basis. It's not something that I intentionally do but it's because I have done it that little bit to much in the past on my early stages of my Provisionals that it is what feels 'normal' to me. I gauge my driving by how I feel and not by what the speedo tells me. I guess I could say I'm over it as well now that I'm on my opens, but that's to say I don't speed to gain enjoyment. As per my note above, it's what has been 'programmed' into me as normal driving behaviour. I would have to say I am pretty damn lucky that I still have my licence. Regardless, it doesn't change my driving habits, and thinking about it now still won't. Just an example how it's not always that simple to change ones mind.

Ouch man. That really, really sucks. I just don't get how there are such idiots out there that think this is a fun thing to do. I saw on TV once where kids where throwing smallish stones at cars going by on a highway. At those speeds, they do a lot of damage. Don't they realise how dangerous this can be. Imagine if it hit your windscreen and obstructed all your vision. What losers. Anyways, for the odour, once you have cleaned up as much as you can, have a look into ozone treatment. Ozone is good at killing odours and may prove to be a good place to start in this case. I work around the hospitality field, and one place you tend to find these units are in hotels and restaurants. If you know anyone working in that industry, you may even be able to borrow one for a bit. With most commercial ozone generators, depending on how bad the odour is, treatment usually lasts for about 10 to 30 minutes.

I've been meaning to do that for quite some time. I've just been too lazy to buy a bulk pack of LED's.

sera709 had brought it to my attention that the version that I uploaded seems to be missing quite a few POI's. I had a look, and sure enough the POI file is 1.88MB versus the 13.9MB POI file in the previous version. This wasn't one of the things I tested before I uploaded... not everyone is perfect okay. Now you can simply copy across the POI file from the older version to the newer version as they are compatible, but if you want to be more updated, I have included an update on the POI's below. This file is 17.7MB which is a whole 27.3% larger, which means 27.3% more POI's than the last. So simply download the ZIP file attached, extract the file 'Australia_productB.poi' and put it in the 'poi' folder in iGO8 (located in the 'content' folder). If I get the time, I will update the original file to make it easier for future downloads. Enjoy. http://rapidshare.com/files/223940584/Points.zip Edit: The file in my previous post has been updated to include this. This link will remain here just in case.

True, true. I only just re-read his signature. Are you sure that when in the fogs they don't look the same as his? Because when in the headlights, because of the projector they will look more blue than when placed in the fog lights.
