  1. By the way, as it is relevant to the topic, Nissan will be (are) actually selling the GT-R through Nissan dealers in Australia. At the moment though, it just appears to be the ones that have been pre-ordered. Nissan even have a list of the authorised dealers up on their GT-R micro-site.
  2. I think the thing to remember here is that Nissan have not designed this car purely for track use. The interior and ride of these cars have been said to be really comfortable. For example, each front seat alone weighs 60 pounds because of the electronic seat adjustments, airbags, and the general construction to make it more comfortable. You can even see that it was made with comfort in mind when you consider it has an 11 speaker BOSE sound system. I agree that it could be made lighter if Nissan intended (and may get better track times as a result), but I don't think this was the highest on their priority list mainly as they were building this as a road going car. I somehow don't think though that the extra weight of the GT-R is going to prevent people from buying it. If they want to make it lighter themselves; they will find a way.
  3. Those are completely pointless. All they do is adjust the amount that the throttle plate moves in relation to how much you press on the accelerator. Such a massive waste of money (AU $359.58 + AU $78.24 for the harness if you choose) for something you can easily adjust with decent driving skills. Look at it this way. For a normal DBW throttle, you depress the accelerator 10% of its range, the throttle plate moves 10% of its range. Now you add this box and put it into 'Sports' mode. Now when you depress the accelerator 10%, the throttle moves 20% (for example). What happens when you depress the accelerator 50%... the throttle is at 100% and the rest of the range in your accelerator is useless. Now it only takes a fraction of a second to press the accelerator that extra distance that this box is going to compensate for. There is absolutely no gain in respect to this. Putting it into 'Eco' mode will do the opposite. For example, you depress the accelerator 10%, the throttle moves only 5%. Now This I can see would provide some sort of gain if you were trying to drive like a granny and want to get your revs 100% perfect, but realistically it is just useless. You can gain decent control with practice. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but those are just my opinions.
  4. LOL. An all so familiar story. Man that was such a simple fix.
  5. Speaking of which... I'm thinking of dropping my resonator, but I'll wait till Rowan has his turn on dyno day to see if there is any negatives to doing so.
  6. I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject, but I can see how weight would be a key factor in affecting performance. The GT-R is not really like any other Skyline. This thing has been designed with the track in mind, so one would think that the weight of it obviously would have some effect, but not so much of a great one that it kills the car. It's hard to make comparisons with this car, but from one of the results recorded from QR, it has shown 0.59.60 (link below) around the track. Now this may not be the smallest number, but it's not simply a case of making a "pile of sht faster". It has the ability to carry it's weight around the track. http://www.qldraceways.com.au/Administrati...eriesforweb.pdf As well, I'm not big on the track racing thing, but I'm pretty sure that with the GT-R obtaining 7:29:03 around the Nürburgring, that's gotta mean something.
  7. I doubt it with that 6 post count of his.
  8. But the GT-R only weighs 190kg more than the R34. When you consider the R34 has a power to weight ratio of 204.55 hp/tonne and the GT-R is 270.29 hp/tonne, not to mention the GT-R pushes 588Nm of torque (196 more than the R34) at 1200RPM lower, you would think the extra weight of the GT-R would mean nothing.
  9. They do look hot when on the road. Best I could take given my limited time available to snap the photo:
  10. That concept has been out for quite a while. The only thing I really love about it are the headlights, and how they can open and close like it has a pair of eyes. Those are so f'ing cool.
  11. That did come up nicely. The first I have seen of your Combi Brendan. Looks too clean to think it was a daily work van.
  12. Just send him a PM including your email address, and he will send the photos to you via a download link.

  14. Those were pretty cool. Now I just wanna see the 2ZZ in an animation like that. Here are the videos for convenience: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  15. Why stop at 7.94, when you can get 6.97 from less cylinders Damn. That thing was wild. I wonder how they figured it could take 86 PSI and rev up to 11,000 RPM.
  16. Well with all this latest talk about the photos taken by Tangcla, I thought I may as well jump in and update my thread with the photos that were taken. Here I give my thanks to Clarence (Tangcla) for coming up and taking the photos, Rowan (ELEGNT) for orgainising the photoshoot, Michael (51DER) for organising the venue for the photos, and Evan (Evo7) for organising the group buy for the eyelids and getting them to us in time for the photoshoot. And now; the pics:
  17. Yuck. I must say, I do love the cop kit on our Aurion's here, but that dress on the Evo looks awful.
  18. Why not make it 7.94 seconds, LOL: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  19. Nup. Think of the clay bar as a soap bar for your car. It cleans the surface of your car to make it absolutely clean and smooth.
  20. Now you can really see just how high mine is compared to Michael's.
  21. Links for convenience: Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm) BNE. Fatpipes Dyno Day With the meet, we usually add a post on the day before if we plan on being there. Not required, just lets us know who to expect. Hope to maybe meet you this Thursday since I will definitely be there with some goodies for SecaBoy (Ash). As for the dyno day, I plan to be there nice and early at 8:50am.I hope to see you there.
  22. Welcome. Like the wheels. Maybe I would be quite satisfied with some 19's. It seems the Brissy Aurion crew is getting larger. You should join us at the dyno day next week. So we can get some stock figures on the dyno for comparison.
  23. Well the spambot ain't the smartest thing around. Though mbruce seems to think that it is copying post from others, so I wonder who originally asked the question in this case.
  24. To the guys interstate that were in on this group buy.... How's your patience holding up? That was mean :P
