Agreed. If there is anything that annoys me more, it's the spelling and grammar (or lack of) coming out of each progressing generation. Call me old fashioned (LOL, I'm only 21) but I hate it how kids these days write with abbreviations or spell words that look 'kewl'. It's just a mess.

Same here. As for the laptops... seriously, what a waste. You can not give a 14-17 year old a laptop and expect them to use it for their school work. Those laptops will only ever see: 1) Live Messenger 2) Bebo 3) MySpace 4) Porn Students are getting lazier by the year and not many of them are going to be using their laptops in a academic manner. Of course there will be the exception to all that who will actually use the laptop appropriately, but it's not enough justification to give every student a laptop. Those students will excel regardless and don't need to be given a laptop to do so. Anyways, in this day and age nearly all households have a PC. When I was in high school, I shared the family PC for my school work and there was no problem with that.

I had the antenna mounted on my parcel shelf. The amplifier box for it sat right behind the centre headrest and I had the antenna extended in a V towards the corners of the rear window. I did connect the power for it as I figured that would be useful, but I could never get TV reception; even on my driveway which has a 10km crystal clear line of sight view of the transmission towers at Mt. Coot-tha. Now there may have been a few factors at play here. I most likely needed to adjust the antenna to suit, my FM antenna and demister loops on the rear window could have interfered, and even the metallic tint could have added towards the bad signal. Either way, I couldn't be bothered starting at the first variable, so I pulled the antenna out and just decided not to use the TV tuner. LOL.

Oh boy. I can fell your pain that you must be going though. This couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time. I'm not sure how the injury is covered. I think that's what CTP insurance is for, but I also don't know who exactly covers that when the driver was unlicensed. I think possibly that's what your insurer follows up during the claim, hence why they usually ask if you were injured when you lodge your claim. As well, I don't really have any knowledge in terms of whether your employer covers you, but from what I have heard, the time spend going to and from work can be covered under business/company insurance policies. Regardless, you would need to do some further reading and investigation to find out what is an isn't covered for yourself. This is the most frustrating part as you can imagine with the injuries that you have already sustained in combination with the time of the year. Everything will work out, it always does. I just wish you all the best Emma and hope that you can get through this as soon as possible.

All Aurion's have the same internal structure, so that rear bracing is always going to be there. The only thing that is different around there is that the Touring has alloy wheels and possibly a different type of tyre.

Damn. When I first read your post and you mentioned how it pushed the cover up, I thought this was the kind of scenario you were talking about. I didn't really think that it actually did happen. That's pretty serious. When were the spark plugs last changed? And by whom? Over tightening them could have led to that.

As for the iGO8 newer version issue, I haven't given it a try and don't plan to any time soon since if it ain't broke, I'm not going to try to fix it. On second thought, if I ever get some spare time, I'll give it a shot. As for the mobile phone issue, I've had issues where the phone doesn't connect properly, but I think that comes down to the phone itself. My fix is to delete all profiles in the phone associated with the head unit and start again by adding it from scratch. For the default mode, when turned off then on, it will revert to either mode that you left it in which is obtainable from the main home screen. You will always have to press NAVI to get it into the navigation mode. Plus you need to wait 5-10 seconds from turning it on before pressing the button actually does anything. I always have mine in DVD mode and as a guide, once the loading bar hits the midway point (centre of the Toyota logo), then you can press the NAVI button. It's a cheaply coded unit. Nothing much you can expect.

Best left to the owners to answer that, but from my experience it does whine, just not very audible (as in loud enough to make some ordinary person ask "what's that strange sound"). I reckon once SecaBoy has his intake finished, his would sounds sweet, but still nowhere near that typical whine you were thinking of (second video posted). This video explains the TVS supercharger: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Now this is a supercharger whine that I want the TRD Aurion to have: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

Whoa. Post count FTW. With the consecutive posts, just edit your first one man. As for the camshafts, yes they are for the 2AZ-FE which covers the Gen 5 and Gen 6 Camry. Pretty much useless in the Aurion section.

Nothing measurable in my opinion. It isn't really going to shave any time off your 0-100. Maybe ever so slightly for the TRD, but that would be it. Please, please, please elaborate for us.

When you say 'burnt out' are you referring to the top (connection side) of the spark plug or the bottom (cylinder side). It you were referring to the former, the damage you would see there would most likely have been caused by the ignition coil arcing to whatever metal was nearby in the the spark plug cavity. As for it coming off and causing that in the first place, it's hard to determine exactly how that came to be. Usually it is held in fairly tight, and doesn't just come loose like that. Has the engine been serviced or worked on recently?

Changing all Power Window switches to Auto switches
DJKOR replied to Michael Hossen's topic in Camry Club
Sure you can change the switches, but you won't get the automatic up/down functionality. The latching circuit for that is only on the drivers door as far as I'm aware. -
Just simple physics. By shortening the gear stick, you are reducing your lever advantage. The distance you move your hand/wrist/arm is shortened ever so slightly, but the force required to shift is increased. Depending on your own everyday strength, this may or may not be a problem.

Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm)
DJKOR replied to Danthuyer's topic in Previous/Past Club Meets & Events
eSEXSIX - You may have beaten me at the lights but that's cause I was giving you and TRD Aurion Owner clearance to move over to the far right. Plus I have less meat on my tires than you so couldn't push so hard on a wet road. Proof would have been at the beginning of the Centenary Highway... did you see my car wanting to slide around that roundabout? But yeah, that was a fun night. Such hoons we are. -
:o That is such a painful sight to see. Anything but the car.

For my Aurion, it's hooked up to the dome lighting. Because my dome lights have a thin gauge ribbon style cable, I didn't want to go splicing into it at any point along the line. Everything on my Aurion was really tightly put together so there were only two points where I could tap into it. One was at the junction box behind the glove box, or at the dome light itself. Couldn't connect it at the dome light end because of the curtain airbags in the A-pillar preventing me from running the cables along there, and couldn't even tap halfway down the A-pillar because the dome lighting uses a crappy ribbon cable that I couldn't be bothered splicing. So that left my last option at the junction box. Had to disconnect the battery and lose my radio settings because to access the cabling behind it, I needed to disconnect everything which included some airbag wiring. It would be easier on another car, or if I took some shortcuts, but I like to get the install right. Anyways, now it means that it behaves exactly light the dome light (regardless of whether the dome light is on or not) and fades in and out correctly. Edit: As for another reasons of putting them in, it's all personal preference. Some people just like to do it. With my car, anyone who has been in it has always commented about how clean it is. I have like OCD for keeping stuff spotless. My car is vacuumed twice a week just so stays clean. The LED's in combination with a spotless car looks nice to me. Anyways, here are a couple more photos. In the last two, you can see how the lighting is well positioned to keep it within the footwell area. Just ignore the bright spot in the third photo; that's not visible from the drivers position. As well, ignore how it looks blue in the fourth photo; that's the result of auto white balance on the camera. Regardless, I never drive with it on because that is just pointless.

Blah! I managed to not see that in quite some time. Thanks for bringing it back up (together with my lunch).

How To Break In Your Engine For More Power & Less Wear !
DJKOR replied to boxerboy's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
That actually does sound quite valid. It makes sense though. Kind of like wearing it in to withstand it's maximum output. I guess this is why Toyota says there is no specific break-in period. It does also seem like the wrong thing to do, but that's just from a general perspective. I really had no control over my car and it's break-in period. I think that all comes down to the first person that hired it. Hmmm. What would they have done after seeing <100km on the ODO... -
Looking at the photos, the bulb for your map/reading lights appear to be BA9s bulbs.

I've got white LED's in my front footwells. Not rice at all. They accent the lighting a little in my opinion. I find it more cleaner to have even lighting all round and the LED's help with that. If it were a different colour, then it would enter rice territory, but I wouldn't define mine as that. I have only a couple of photos at the moment. Will add some better ones when it gets dark. Mine are just wired so that they come on when the dome light does and can be disabled/overridden as necessary.

I was like that at first while I was still getting used to the feel of my Aurion. Initially it felt like the car had control of me, but once I started to feel that I had control over the car, that's when it all changed. Once you feel the potential of the Aurion in it's power band of 4700-6200RPM, it may be hard to turn back. LOL. Well for me anyways. Just look at my increasing fuel consumption.

Toyota Oval Emblem Sizes.
DJKOR replied to Blind Kid Seeks's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
Well that badge was for an 05 Sportivo Camry. Width is 100mm and height is 70mm. The only reason why I had the 05 Sportivo emblem was that I think that is the only model which ever had black emblems from factory. -
Toyota Oval Emblem Sizes.
DJKOR replied to Blind Kid Seeks's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
Definitely not for the Aurion and Gen 5 Camry. I bought a Gen 5 Camry Sportivo bot lid emblem from Toyota because I wanted to change mine to black without painting. Turns out the black badge I got was about 1 cm smaller in width and height. At least it only cost me $3.00. Edit: Comparison photo: -
Don't get me wrong. I'm interested in anything that involves driving. I'm just stuck in a sh!thouse job which has left me working on that day from 10am-3pm. I am seeing what I can do to get that day off.
