  1. I know this is knocking another Toyota but seriously; how much more visible do you need to be?
  2. My mate has a twin Varex setup installed on his VE SS. You can see the photo of it in the gallery of the Pipewerx website (the first photo). He used the oval style with dual tips. I didn't measure it when I looked at it but up close, it looks no larger than dual 3 inch tips. In person, it doesn't seem overly massive, and I kind of wish that I got that for my Aurion. Fitting it may have been an issue though. The one I would have like to get for my Aurion is the single tip version, and the XForce website states that it comes in 4 or 4.5 inch tips. The 4 inch tips shouldn't look too overboard I reckon. The ones on my Aurion are 3.5 inch, and I don't think 4 would be too far. But yeah, I'm not a fan of the canon mufflers. Just looks too ricey IMO. I'm questioning whether the oval barrel Varex would fit though since the stock Aurion muffler exits offset from the centre. Edit: For reference, this is what 3.5 inch tips would look like on the Aurion (well the Sportivo anyways; but the cutout is the same size). So 4 inch shouldn't be too much larger. Edit 2: Forgot the debadged photo; LOL.
  3. salen - If the TRD Aurion body kit was that easy to obtain, I'm sure someone here would have posted the details... maybe even bought one. As far as the discussion in this thread goes, it would seem that you need to own a TRD Aurion to buy the parts. It's not something that Toyota would sell in general. On a side note, SecaBoy found the following link: http://tw.f4.page.bid.yahoo.com/tw/auction/d34526240 Not sure who would be willing to take the risk though.
  4. Really? Well I guess that this thing that the air intake temperature sensor is attached to is just for show. This is off a recent 2007 design Toyota and is a fairly common sensor.
  5. I like the style. It's like in the movies when they are walking into a club and the muffled music gets heavier and the bass gets stronger. Great car... great music (Punk Buster 'What" right? Haven't listened to that in ages). Edit: Post up some photos for some detailed goodness.
  6. Good job mate. Yeah, I really want to take mine there for the fun of it, but I probably wouldn't launch it properly and mess up. It's pretty good when you consider that Ashley (SecaBoy) got 14.1 with a slightly weighed down TRD. It's amazing how a difference of milliseconds doesn't look like much, but is quite a bit on the strip though.
  7. Nice car. It looks so hot in person doesn't it? Great colour choice as well, hehehehe.
  8. An interesting note. On my Aurion, after I installed my cutout, for the first few times driving it with the cutout open, I could smell this egg smell. With it closed, I barely noticed this smell. Only happened for a day or two... never happened since. Probably just the batch of fuel I had.
  9. Cin - I would follow the recommendations from BONDIE. So far that has been two good experiences from them, and I am certainly pleased with their service. Also, by sticking to the same guys, it can help reduce confusion to them overseas as they deal with Australia and the Aurion's more and more. BONDIE - I remember you talking about the scissor doors some time back. Those will definitely look bad-*****. I can't wait to see it when it's all done.
  10. LOL. "When I grow up, I wanna be a turbo". I just don't get people who buy those... and the people that try to market them.
  11. I'm pretty sure the TRD has the exact same engine internals and that S/C has got to be pushing at least 6 PSI. I'm guessing if you boost it to about 10, it would handle it, but I would question how long it would last.
  12. Current - Toyota Aurion Sportivo SX6: Next - Saleen Mustang H302 SC: Dream - Hennessey SRT-10 Viper Venom 1000 Coupe: There are so many dream cars that I wish I could have like Ferrari or Lamborghini, but that Viper really is one work of art.
  13. The Thrillseekers Feat. Aruna - Waiting Here For You [Night Music Edit] OMG man. I just had to go though my collection and bring that song up again. Haven't listened to it in months. Now I'm stuck on my Classic Euphoria CD and am now in a serious old school moment with Tomcraft and Robert Miles running through my head just to begin.
  14. OMG! Pearl tea... how could I forget that. Addiction started with simple flavoured milk with pearls in the Philippines. Now I'm addicted to Easy Way.
  15. Hmmm to the TRD Aurion spoiler. I can't quite pinpoint it but the combination of its large and flat surface area and that it sits close to the body, makes me picture a long range comms antenna like one that should be mounted on an aircraft.
  16. I always thought that the 4-spoke steering wheel design stopped with the end of the 2006 models. I guess I never really payed much attention to the Presara's.
  17. The more I look at the photos of your car overall, the more it looks less like a Toyota. It looks like a car that your average person would look at and ask, 'what car is that?' and would be shocked when you said it was a Toyota.
  18. Damn. Looks hot alright. Seeing everyone with all their new rims makes me feel so far behind. You can definitely see how much larger the 20's are when you look at the discs. Hehehehe. I was thinking of getting a set of 18's for mine for a mix between comfort and tyre price (plus so I can have some wider tread), but I probably won't want to spend a massive amount. Then if I buy 4 rims for say $1000, I will feel that I could have just put that little bit more into it and bought a better/larger set. Then the cycle repeats.
  19. Mmmmm. Lift. Looking hot. And yes; red IS the fastest colour. Hehehehe.
  20. Alcoholic: Bourbon and Coke (1st choice: Wild Turkey) or Scotch and Coke (1st choice: Johnnie Walker). Depends on the mood. Don't usually stick to just one. Non-Alcoholic: Lemon-Lime and Bitters
  21. <coughs> turbo... Come ooonnn.... be the first. LOL. As much as I believe that the Aurion is just built to have only a supercharger, a turbo setup would be sweet, and probably cheaper (in comparison to the Supercharger anyways). A front mount on the Sportivo would look nice as well. Joking aside, I guess your next step after intake is exhaust. If you save up, you can do a Varex setup for around $1000 and that way you can adjust the volume level. It all comes down to your budget really and how much you want to save. If I had the money, I would get a custom headers and dual 2 inch piping to the rear with a dual Varex to top it off. Unless I win the lotto, that ain't gonna happen any time soon.
  22. From talk about accessing this site from work, to girls being auto enthusiasts, to talk about the looks of BONDEE and Nellie... I guess everyone really is bored at work. I guess I can say I'm bored as well though since I went to the effort of making this post from my phone.
  23. If you wanted to use the pod filter that you already have, you will need to buy or build an intake tube with the MAF sensor and vacuum hose attachments. Look at the setup that dannywss has for an idea. Buying one already pre-made would save you all the hassle. In the long run, all you will gain is a lot more extra noise and most likely a minor loss in power (for the non-TRD Aurions). The loss/gain in power with respect to the intake is questionable though. From my experience, it seems that there is ever so slightly more low end torque with the stock intake. If you were concerned about helping reduce intake restriction, you could just buy a K&N panel filter and call it a day. May even work out cheaper than trying to mess with the pod filter you have there (depending on the US exchange rate). As for the muffler, everyone here has only gone for the extra grunt factor. We haven't been aiming to improve power... yet. None of us here have really tested the effect of changing just the mufflers and therefore it's hard to say whether there has been a drop in performance. My guess is that if you are reducing your back pressure, you will lose a bit of your low end torque, but gain more high end power. That's what I have noticed with my cutout. I think the advantages of less restriction for high end power was proved by Darius who managed to get an increase in power on the dyno with a Varex setup with both the resonator and his under-body cat removed.
  24. Sweet. MAD Coatings is in Queensland. I guess I can look into that as well. LOL.
  25. Bummer. With only a few expected for tonight, I wish I had my Aurion out with its new grill and all. I will be there, but it's still one less Toyota.
