If you follow the flow of oil, does it go: Transmission -> external oil cooler -> radiator oil cooler -> transmission Or does it go: Transmission -> radiator oil cooler -> external oil cooler -> transmission When I was speaking to SupaTouring back when I had my Sportivo and was going to put an oil cooler on it when I changed the transmission fluid, he mentioned to have it pass through the radiator oil cooler afterward to aim in warming up the transmission fluid in colder temperatures.

    Ummm... the TRD production wasn't suspended because of the issue they had engine issues with one of the earlier ones. You may want to read up about the TRD Australia first to see why they ceased production of the TRD Aurion and Hilux. As well, to be more specific, the supercharger is a Harrop HTV1320 based on the Eaton R1320.
  3. If you are referring to the difference between the pre-facelift and facelift headlights then yes, they will fit. There were no changes to the physical size and dimensions of the head and tail lights between the two.
  4. You need to be a little more specific on what you are identifying. You mention belt tensioner which would indicate you are referring to the drive belt tensioner. You do however also mention the timing belt (which is in fact a timing chain), and the tensioner for that is a completely different story. If you are referring to the drive belt tensioner, then it's as simple as pulling off the right wheel and taking off the splash guards. The tensioner is the shiny thing in the first photo. Second photo shows the tensioner locked with no tension applied. ou can see how you should be able to remove it rather easily. If you are referring to the timing chain tensioner, accessing the tensioner itself is easy as there is a service panel on the rear bank of the engine... however to access this, the engine needs to be lifted up due to it's location.
  5. Very good question. I never really thought about it. It nearly looked like "Best", but I don't see how that fits in. On a side note, when he called up kids to the stage, I was the only boy. We helped him with a trick involving (surprise, surprise) a Dove.
  6. There are a couple of other things this could be based on what has been experienced by other members. One could be the VVT-i controller. My car does this when it has been about 10,000km since my last oil and filter change. Changing these two seems to resolve it, but this isn't technically a fix... just preventing it from occurring. If this is where your noise is coming from and you have had an oil and filter change recently, there is a good chance your controller has broken down more seriously. Now I'm not 100% on this as SupaTouring (David) and SecaBoy (Ash) was the one that mentioned it to me and my memory is shoddy, but it had something to do with Toyota releasing a revised belt for the engine which was 25mm shorter than the original one. I don't quite recall how this helps though.
  7. Front strut? Hopefully you're not confusing what I said about a front sway bar with a front strut brace. The sway bar is made to reduce body roll by applying force to the suspension on the opposite side of the car whereas the front strut brace is made to reduce chassis flex and actually doesn't really do anything to body roll.
  8. Why would you want a 16mm front sway bar when I'm pretty sure the stock front sway bar is closer to at least 19mm? I haven't measured it, but I'm certain that it's well thicker than 16mm. If you were to make it thinner than stock, you would really be stuffing up the handling of the car. But that's all irrelevant because there is no aftermarket front sway bar available.

Yeah, I just couldn't wait to get that sorted out. I figured I would head into Officeworks before work and get it sorted. Finding a frame was a little more tricky, but the Target down the road had just what I needed. Yeah, I have a fair bit of random crap in my room. Those swords are a little bit of a spare time thing. Every now and again I work on stone sharpening them. Haven't gotten that far yet, but they do serve as a great "long stabby thing". The TMX Elmo was such an impulse purchase when they first came out.

  12. It's about A1 sized in canvass (can't remember the inch measurement). The original photo was not a high enough resolution to have printed any larger. It was acually a failed photo, but it worked quite well. It's of me and a good friend one night out. Anyways, enough side tracking. Dale's work is awesome. I just can't express that enough.
  13. I had a bit of a moment there getting it printed thinking whether A2 would be enough or whether I should get it A1. In the end, I decided A2 would be perfect. The size is actually quite good... not too big and not too small. It just looks smaller in the photo because of the way it sits on the wall. That was a trial placement though. I have since returned it to how it was before (a canvas of this image) and placed the rendering on another wall.
  14. I have confidence that Matt should be able to tackle the task at hand with no issues. It will probably be easier for him because his uni would have a set of SMD soldering/desoldering tweezers. On a side note, it's quite funny because after meeting Matt in person, he reminds me (looks wise) of a lab partner I had when I went to QUT.
  15. I'd be more concerned about the durability of them due to power. They only use resistor/s as a means of current limiting and as a result, they tend to burn out relatively quick. Same here, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider getting a pair and now want to get them after seeing that. I only use my foggies when the sun is starting to set and I want to turn my lights on so people can see me better on the road. If I reckon I can make it home before it gets too dark, I'll turn the fog lights on to save me from using the HID headlights. I also use them instead of the headlights when driving in the rain. I never really use them so I can see better when driving, so having something like this which has equivalent brightness regardless of throw would be perfect for me.
  16. Benji seems to think so But this is in comparison from stock to 23mm. I see what Adamsy means though. It would be interesting to have a comparison of the 19mm and the 23mm on the same suspension setup to see what differences there are. It's like when people say that a free-flowing exhaust is always better when in fact, it isn't always the case despite what people say from their experience.

  19. It's like the same reasoning as selling your Presara to upgrade to a TRD. Get more gain for value that way
  20. No need to get all worked up about it. Can you really justify why you feel so bad you didn't get the 23mm? The 19mm bar is a great addition as it is. You should maybe focus on things that will give more of an overall difference to complement the 19mm bar better... like getting rid of that spongy Presara suspension and putting in some Sportivo or TRD springs and shocks.

    Do what I did Mick. I covered any seams on it with some silicon. Even though mine were labelled as water-proof, you can never be too safe.
  23. Damn... that was close. I didn't do anything to my car today. Yesterday though I did a little bit to it. I gave the seats a very thorough cleaning and then leather treatment. Had to carry a bunch of wasted girlfriends from the Valley on Sunday morning and my seats were due for a clean anyways. Thank **** for leather seats.
  24. You won't really reach the limits unless you truly give it a hard run. I wouldn't worry about over-steering issues under most 'spirited' street driving condtions. Not having a go or anything, but just saying that the limits of these cars may be higher than you expect. What you may think is it's limit will surprise you again next time when you push it even harder.
  25. It's all controlled by the Body ECU which is part of the fuse and relay panel behind the glovebox. This then goes to the relay and fuse panel in the engine bay, and from there it goes to the lights. If you were going to do option 3, you would have to splice some wires all over the place. In all honesty, there will be a moderate amount of effort involved to get it working that way. When I get some time, I can tell you what needs to be splices and where you need to add come diodes etc.
