  1. on my trd, its currently showing 11.9L/100km... and thats because i just got the car... so everyone that sees me for the first time since i got the car says "come on, take me for a spin!"... i reckon after the novelty wears off, i should be seeing about 11L/100km.. when i drove down to the gold coast from brisbane, sitting on 110 the whole way, my fuel economy was showing 10.1L/100km... which is actually less than what toyota say it does... :D i was getting an average of 10-11L/100km in my old Honda Accord Euro... so to be honest, its not that much difference... oh, something hilarious was this though... i filled up fuel and reset all the trip meters and then came outta the petrol station and stood on the gas... the fuel economy thingy showed 38.9L/100km... HAHAHAHAHAA... i backed off after that...
  2. mate, if i was in melbourne, i'd definitely come along and put the car on the dyno... but its a bit far from sunny qld to drive just for a dyno day... if anyone talks to darius, could you please point him in the direction of this thread? i'm interested to know his thoughts on these mufflers... :) thanks ash.
  3. dannywss: thanks for the heads up... i'll send him a PM... in terms of modding a 50k+ vehicle... i dont see any harm in these varex mufflers... when the valve is shut, i'll be in a situation where i dont want to be thrashing the car anyway..... so the lack of power when the valve is shut is really completely irrelevant..
  4. hahahaha... how does that help not coughing so hard that i almost black out.. nah, its not that bad... but fuq it hurts!!! i'll see how i feel tomorrow... i doubt very highly that i'll be able to come... so sorry guys... :( but i'll try my hardest to come out to next thursday night... :D
  5. yeah... ignore me... i just found the thread with the links in them... helps to spell properly when you do a search... EDIT: i still had problems spelling... hahaha
  6. hey guys i'm sorry if this is a repost... i couldnt find it anywhere... i was thinking about getting twin varex mufflers for my trd, so i was doing some searching around last night and found this video... it convinced me straight away... :D hahaha anyway.. enjoy...
  7. Sorry guys.... i'm out this week... i've got a bad chest infection.... i'm sure the last thing you guys want is for me to be coughing all over you and your rides..
  8. i'm a maybe now... i've got a bad chest infection... :( :( :( :( :( :(
  9. lol julez you make me laugh... if you come on the twincam cruise, you can go camera happy all over the car if you want... :D
  10. all i can say is that the v13 is WAY outta date... it doesnt even have my street on there... and we've been here for about 2yrs now...
  11. to be honest... in spite of all the reviews i've read, the trd torque steers very slightly (if anything) more than the normal aurion... the only difference i can feel between the trd and the aurion is that from higher speeds (ie, 80+) when you stand on the car, it steering wheel twitches slightly... i've driven a 3MPS and its got WAAAYYYYY more torque steer than the TRD... honestly... if you're driving in a "lean back" gangsta style, then yes, the wheel WILL rip outta your hand... but if you drive like a normal person with both hands on the wheel, then its very controllable... but i experienced the same thing in the standard aurion as well...
  12. sorry for the ignorance... but what's toyota link??? is that something different to the bluetooth connection to your phone via the satnav unit?
  13. i believe the aurion shares the same engine as the Lexus GS350... albeit in a different configuration... but i wonder if this kit would work... no idea on the costs associated with it though... :) http://www.tomstrd.com.au/toms_gs.html
  14. what mod did you do to the intake system? keen to know what people have done as well... :)
  15. well, i'll be there on thursday night... and i'm gonna try to get out of my friday night committments to come on the mountain run... :D
  16. unless something unforseen comes up... i'll be there to meet everyone... well, that is if i can find the place... lol i get the "loop" from the picture.. but confused about the whole 'if its raining, its the train' thing... where is the train? lol
  17. if i didnt want the extra power, the sportivo zr6 would have been my pick over all the other cars in the same bracket!! :) trd aside, the new aurion's are beautiful, and some of you guys on here have just taken it to the next level!!! i'm just glad i've found some people on here that appreciate the aurion as much as i do! :D
  18. thanks for the write up!!! really appreciated... i'm going to attempt to do this speed sensor wire thingy for the sat nav so that it will trick the sat nav to think that i'm still parked... the write up on that is also pretty good... so wish me luck... :)
  19. yeah, i guess i was just used to driving my silvia and wrx where you could brake and turn in at the same time and then power out of the corner... i've forgotten how to drive a fwd quickly... hahaha it'll come back to me i'm sure... lol the brakes on this car is just amazing though... you can brake really really late going in to a corner, and it just bites and pulls you up... :o kinda un-nerving cause i always end up braking really early... but give me time... i've only owned the car for 70hrs...
  20. i dont know... it might look tooooo black... plus, what am i going to drive around on until they coat those wheels? lol
  21. thanks for the offer, but if i was gonna spend extra on rims, then i'd go an aftermarket set in black with dish... the ideal would have been to get the car delivered to me with the gun metal grey rims... although, i've been thinking of getting the stock rims powder coated in black... but not sure if it'll look good... maybe in white will look good...
  22. thanks steve. unfortunately, the gun metal rims only come on the S model.. not the SL... so it wasnt an option for me to get them... i asked the dealer if i could, but he said no.. :( heh... thanks for the compliment... i have a disease where i cant keep any car stock... even if i bought a lambo/ferrari, id still find something to change on it... i guess its so i have an individual looking car.. even my accord euro had rims and had been lowered...
  23. haha no worries! if i see you, ill "try" catch up to you Wanna take me for a ride? :D Im really cruious to feel the difference in power with the supercharger. I also noticed you use to own a wrx, whats the TRD aurion like compared to it? im guessin u would be able to put more power to the ground without losing traction with the wrx since its AWD. yeah, i dont mind taking people for a spin... before i got the TRD, toyota gave me a prodigy as a 'loan' car... so i basically jumped from that into the TRD.. and there was a significant difference between the two cars... not only in power, but also the handling... well, in the wrx, i never had any loss of traction... but then again, i was only making 153kws... so it was no monster... the wrx was a very firm footed car... like, you never felt like it was gonna spin out on you... i've noticed in the TRD that when i'm hard on the brakes coming in to a corner, the rear end is very twitchy... like, it feels like it wants to step out on me... its not going to step out, cause its not breaking traction in the rear, but it just has that feeling to it... its very very possible that i'm not used to driving this car though... every car needs to be driven in a slightly different manner.. so over time i'll get used to this one as well... :) thanks mate... thanks... :)
  24. thanks guys... :) ZZR88: for sure... although, in this car, i'm either enjoying the peace and quiet when i'm cruising along, or i'm trying to hold on if i put my foot down... so please excuse me if i dont wave back if you see me... i'm not being rude... i'm prolly in my own little world where there are no road rules... :P
