i'm still thoroughly enjoying the power of my car... so after 1400kms, i still havent had a full tank of "normal" driving... but in the days that i just drive to work and home in traffic, i've noticed the fuel consumption indicator showing roughly 11-11.6l/100km... on average though, its sitting around 12.5-13l/100km... i do have to say though....the trd is a REALLY thirsty car when you put your foot down... and yet really really fuel economical when you're just cruising around like a grandpa... are the normal aurions like that as well?

U Kiddin?? U can be like..Our supplier for the TRD's Kit..LoL Just wonderin..Have u ever asked how much is ur Kit for all sides? Excluding the Wings on the back. I got a quote from Toyota around 1300 for all sides including the wings and they allowed me to get the kits even though I didnt even own a TRD..lol nah, i dont mind... i've never asked how much the trd kit is... i've got one, so why would i buy another one? lol hahaha if it is actually 1300 for front, side and rear, then thats FUQN cheap!!!!!!! if you go aftermarket, it will be more than that, plus it'll be fiberglass, not plastic!

man, those wheels are hot hot hot!!! what brand/model are they and how much?

this one is standard exhaust, dropped from the flanges before the rear muffler (pretty boring as the sound difference was SFA!) this one is standard exhaust, dumped at the cat. so no resonator, no mufflers or anything. these were taken on a phone, so the sound quality isnt that great... the sound from the exhaust was MUCH louder than shown in these clips...

zr6er: i disagree... the front merge collector can DEFINITELY be improved!!! also, typhoon is being phased out, so resale would suck. plus the new model being released would have a LOT of issues as all new fords do. danny: **** man, that really sucks... :( i'm still looking at my options, so nothing will be happening with mine either...

well, after playing around with the exhaust yesterday and taking different parts off, i've come to the following conclusions: 1) i can safely say that you could easily leave the resonator and take the two rear mufflers and the sound would be as loud as a normal 'hoons' car... 2) running nothing after the cat would result in you getting fined within the first 2mins you're on the road... if there is a cop in a 10km radius from you, they will hear you and come and get you! 3) if you're planning on doing it at home, make sure your neighbours love you!!! lol 4) with only the cats in place and no other sort of muffler/resonator, the car sounds AWESOME!!! much like darius's clips, but about 5 times louder and it had a real bark to it... we took some clips of the car at different stages, but it was on my mates camera, so i'll have to wait till he emails them to me... here is the resonator: (looks to be roughly 7" in diameter :o) here is the cat: (looks to be a fairly decent cat which would flow really well) here is the merge collector thats look nnnaaasssssstttttyyyyyy!!:

well, hopefully the "sound" will be changing tomorrow (well, today... its 3am lol)... and when i took off, it was like in 2nd gear and only half throttle... oh yeah!! those black rims were hhhhhhootttttttttt... i love the "black on black" look.... :D i THINK i met northy there... although, not too sure... it might not have been him... lol too many people for a noob like myself to learn everyone's names... hahaha ohhhhh, so its s/c... i was wondering why i couldnt hear the usual turbo whistle from your car when you took off!! congrats though! beautiful car... :) and nice choice of F/I... ;) hehe

well, i'm taking out the resonator tomorrow and replacing it with a straight pipe... i'll try to get a video and post it up for you guys... ;)

damn that was an impressive turnout!!! so many awesome cars there too!! firstly... that turbo late model celica... is that the only one in brissie? i've never seen a turbo one of those before... RESPECT!! lol secondly... glad to see some modded GT4's around as well... maybe i'm living under a rock, but i've never seen a modded GT4 on the streets of brissie before... haha thirdly... thanks to those that introduced themselves to me... i didnt know who was who... so its a bit awkward walking up to strangers saying hello... anyway, it was good to meet some of you... i had to bail cause me and my mates were fuqn starving without dinner... so we went and hit up maccas.. we cruised to all the "hot spots" after eating and ALL of the places were dead as dead can be... riverside/milton/kangaroo point... :( a bit weird considering tomorrow is a public holiday... i thought all the hoons would have been out in full force...

thanks darius... your input on this has been great! in terms of the looks of it.. doesnt really mean anything... cause it'll never be seen due to the design of the rear bumper on the TRD. my concern is about the size of the varex compared to the stock resonator... i've heard the varex mufflers are HUGE... so i doubt it'd fit in the same spot as the stock resonator without hitting speed bumps etc.... i'll hopefully get under the car this weekend and measure things up... do you have a link to the smaller varex muffler? i cant seem to find any info on it... maybe i'm blind... yeah, down the track i'll have a look at replacing the full exhaust system with something more performance orientated... but for now, all i'm searching for is the noise...

nice one man!!! soooo damn sexy!!! i know what you mean about staring at the car... i sometimes feel like a complete idiot, cause i catch myself staring at completely stock aurion sportivos... and my mates are like "whats wrong with you!? its just a normal toyota!" they'll never understand and appreciate the beauty of the aurion.. :( aurion = sexiest family car on the market!!!

why will it look ugly? on the trd, you cant see any of the exhaust at all.. so it is completely irrelevant of what it'll look like cause no one will ever see it... also, why do you say that it wont work? a lot of the old school muscle cars have a similar setup...
