  1. Thanks C-Rolla Greatly appreciated. If mine comes down to that height i'll be happy. Currently it got more than double that clearance from the top of the tyre to the wheel arch. Thanks again for the pic!
  2. Oh, ok There you go then. Thanks for that. By the way, is the CES the best available in terms of power gain?
  3. Definately a possibility, Plus i'd like to retain some sort of ride quality.
  4. What about King lows or superlows, anyone out there with pics of those. Mines going down on King lows tomorrow, just wanted to see if i've decided on the wrong springs. Starting to think I should have went with superlows. Was very undecisive as i'm riding on 18's.
  5. Is that what they look like new? I would have thought they would look abit cleaner than that. More of a silver colour To me it looks like its been fitted for a fair while. But thats just me, when it comes to stainless exhausts I have very little experience
  6. Not sure where to get the filter but you may want to check with Toyota first if they agree that this is a valid part to be using. When I picked my car up I advised them that I would be changing the oil and filter between each toyota service. They had no problem with this but I insisted that I use only a genuine toyota filter as the service dept may be able to use this as a loophole later if anything goes wrong. I realise that a TRD filter is still a Toyota part but a quick phone call to your dealer surely wont hurt.
  7. Any users here have pics of their rides on King lows or superlows? Post here or PM me.
  8. Are there any CAI's that fit the 2005 model properly without modifying, cutting or bending? There has been alot of talk about all the different brands in regard to making them fit etc but are there any that are a proper fit using existing brackets/mounts?
  9. Theres a mobile franchise chain that do plastic interior repairs in vehicles etc. I cant remember their name for the life of me but they work out of a van similar to the paintless dent removal guys. Check the yellow pages, you might just find what your looking for!
  10. Blue_Stivo, I think they might be leading you astray here a little. Now, I have just finished fitting up my 18's and rest assured I researched tyres for countless hours before I made my choice. At one point the so called "tyre professionals" recommended I fit a 215/35/18, which was not available in the correct load rating nor fitted correctly on a 7.5 inch rim. Their reason for recommendation? They had them in stock. Now I hear you all saying: "thats a legitimate size for an 18x7.5", and you would all be right. However, its not within the load rating nor is it the closest match available for the stock rolling circumference of 620mm. In my case a 225/35/18 satisfied the load rating and is only a few mm shy of 620. The profile is slightly higher than a 215 even though we are comparing 35 series tyres. As others have stated a 215/45/17 is readily available and is your best bet here. This size comes in at 625mm whereas a 205/40/17 comes in at 595mm. Besides the fact that it is lower it will also be narrower across the rim, giving you less to zero rim protection. The brand and price is up to you but just bare all that in mind so you dont make the same mistake I nearly did. Hope this helps. P.S. Personally I like #3, the gold HP's, only cos i'm a big fan of the 5 spoke style
  11. Yeah guys i'm going to be lowering the car, thats a certainty. Hoping to get it done this week but that will depend if the suspension guys can source the parts and fit me in. Another thing that has been slowing me down is the vast discussion on here regarding springs/suspension. I'm not going to be doing any track work and I dont want an ultra stiff ride so at this stage i think i'll go with the low king springs. I was thinking superlows at first but apparently they deteriorate the ride quality a hell of a lot more than the regular lows. Again I guess this is subject individual preferance and use. I'll post some more pics up when shes lower.
  12. They are 18"x7.5" Lenso Muse running 225/35/18 Falken 512's Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
  13. Hey guys, I was going to open a new post for the same reason, but i hope you dont mind if I add it in here. I've had my new rims fitted this week! Heres a pic, just keep in mind that its getting lowered next week so it wont be a monster truck for too long.
  14. Can we get a cheaper price for a group buy if enough people are interested? I know I am. Also, is the design able to be changed slightly so that the back seats can still recline?
  15. Naturally i'll post some pics once I get them put on. I'm still waiting tyres to arrive but they should be right to go tomorrow. I went with 225/35/18's in a Falken 512. This tyre fits the rim better (width) and is closer to the rolling diameter of the stockies than a 215/35/18 (which alot of people seem to be fitting). Also, the Falkens match the load rating of the originals, which some members here have had trouble locating in the past. The Falken are an 87W where the stockies are 87V. Theres some info for anyone looking for or considering 18's.
  16. I did read both of those before posting. I didnt want to know how to remove the unit. i just wanted to know if anyone had already removed one to see if there are RCA outs. I dont see the point of pulling my headunit out if it would be so much quicker to gets someones advice. Thanks Arcxis! How does it sound?
  17. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone has removed a headunit from an 05 Sportivo. This is the 6-disc unit with MP3 support. Does this unit have RCA outputs on the back? I know its highly unlikely but just thought i'd check. I'm doin it a little tough for cash after the purchase of the new car plus 18's so I was hoping to be able to use an amp and sub I have just until I can replace the headunit with something else. I realise I could use a line converter but have heard of various outcomes using these. Any advice greatly appreciated!
  18. Daz, Can you please post a pic up of the single din headunit which I guess would now have a pocket in the spare space. Were they able to use the original headunit mounts? What product was used for the pocket? (genuine or generic)?
  19. Sunny bill, Can you please post up some pics? A 50mm drop would be using super low king springs as oppised to the regular lows? What did they charge you and how long did it take? Thanks
  20. Daz, In regards of a mounting point for your amp I have found the following pros and cons. Mounting your amp under your front seat is a neat "out of the way" location but I have found in the past it can lead to over heating of the amp which will cause an auto cut out and can reduce the overall life of your amp. (I significantly reduced the life of a very expensive MTX Thunder amp this way) Rear seat occupants can also disturb wiring if they kick or put their feet on the amp. The amp will have alot more venting space in the boot but then is can also be in the way of loading things in the boot and also runs the risk of being bumped by such objects. If you have a full boot (road trips etc) this can also lead to overheating of the amp. I have done quite a number of installs for both friends and paying customers, mounting amps wherever the customers wished. Most often we found that the boot was the better option as long as the person can afford the space. Ultimately, you should mount the amp in a place that suits you best. If you need maximum boot space then go under the passenger seat, its not going to cut your amp life in half but I found my amps seemed to wear out faster when mounted in this position. Thats my experience anyhow.
  21. I'm voting for gunmetal, would look great on the silver car. If you want the ricer look then go for the white. I picked up my 18's yesterday. Got a set of Lenso "Muse" in Hypersilver. They're darker than a straight silver but not as dard as shadow chrome, more like gunmetal/titanium. My Sportivo is white so it should look good.
  22. did it have a veilside style front bar??? seen pics of this one, and it's in Canberra... ← I dont think it had a veilside front bar, pretty sure it was just the Sportivo front lip add on. Only got a quick glance as I was watching traffic so not entirely sure.
  23. Just before 10am today on Marcus Clarke St, Civic, Canberra. Pre facelift black corolla, not sure if it was a sportivo as it was debadged. But had the kit, a racewing mounted from the roof, 17 or 18" chromies. Anyone here?
  24. Ok guys so if a TRD CAI doesnt fit australian corollas properly (brackets etc) what does? I dont want to go cutting brackets and drilling holes when I get one.
