  1. I reackon its time we all put our money where our mouth is and hit the calder raceway on a friday night , the weather is cold, just perfect for 1/4 mile runs.........who would be interested??? Im very very keen, my gf will come too in the 03 stivo, i want to test my stock 05, it feels quick i want to see how quick in my hands. Stewwwww????? c'mon man!!!!!!!!! i kow youre in, Bill???? Carlo??? DANZZ????????? Egene???.....the whole gang of us, and of course a digi cam :).

  2. I gotta post up some pics............soon i promise. The first impression is the car is a more ridgid unit handles with more precision, steering is responsive, sharp cornering, a bit bumpy but the shocks absorb the bumps well, you can feel the suspension working, i'm over the moon :o :o it's amazing how the car changes. Now im waiting for the rear sway bar. Thanx for the help guys your input and advice is worth gold, much appreciated it.

  3. I had them on my 03 corolla nish and theywere great for the original 16's however when you put 17's on it, it raised the car a little, and i just wanted the car a little lower so i went for a lower spring. had toyota made the car 20mm lower in stock from, then it would have made it easier on everyone as the eibachs would have been sufficient.

  4. Laps on chaps would get the attention of the jacks B) , now that i dont need. Id love to have it low as possible but i have to consider everyday driving and the longetivity of the car, i mean having a low car is great but having a really really low car and use it everyday for driving.....ummmm nah, not on these crappy roads.

  5. OOpss :) maybe not all, what i mean to say is that coilovers are probably more useful for the track instead of the street. my personal use is for the street, so for the $1500 setup spend on konis(one of the best brands) and whiteline springs(top spring also) i dont think i would have been able to get coilovers of that quality even for $2grand. Also I dont want to have parts in the car that will never get used to their potential, and to me coilovers are best for track, i "think" they would be a waste for "Me" as the 40mm lowering springs are low enough, and going to coilovers would not justify any of my set criteria if you know what i mean.

  6. Ive decided on Koni's, there was the option for bilstein blacks but they dont have them for the car, also i was told KYB is what we have in the sportivo's now, so koni's whiteline springs, all up installed $1380 not bad. Coilovers are for the track only so they would be a waste of money, something i would never use.

  7. I can now get Koni's for $900, thats $250 each for the front and $200 each for the rear. I spoke do an Eibach rep, and he pretty much told me that stock absorbers on the car are fine as long as a replacing spring is harder than the stock spring. The reason.....the spring will support more load and there will be less rebound on the original shock since the spring is more compact and shorter. There should be no need to replace it...........however this guy didnt want to try and sell me anything so he didnt care about sales, he just gave me free info. Alot of guys recommending shocks do it for the purpose of sales, thats what pisses me off...i mean there are no friggen eibach shocks for my car...

  8. This is what i got back from Eibach Australia.....hmmm makes you wonder about donnellans.

    "

    Thank you for your enquiry regarding Eibach Suspension Technology.

    Springs to suit the Corolla Sportivo are in stock part number 10-85-012-02-22. Cost is $600 + freight. They offer approx 20mm lowering on the Sportivo model. Unfortunately we do not produce a Damper system for this vehicle however I would recommend either;

    Bilstein; $610 pair front and $460 pair rear. Stock is due in approx 8 weeks.

    Koni; $605 pair front and $500 pair rear. In stock. "

  9. I made a phone call this morning to enquire about eibach pro dampers, and i received a rather frightening response, lowering the car more than 30 mm is illegal and does not comply with aust insurance standards. I personally think its a load of crap. The guy said lowering it that low i would require custom made shocks. And these guys distribute koni and eibachs in Vic. Makes you wonder.

  10. I will contact eibach myself and see what they say. The "bloke" at donellans stated that the difference between the koni and eibach pricing was due to the koni's being adjustable in their dampness. I'll keep you posted, these shockers could be the alternative to koni's keep you posted.

  11. Exactly my thoughts QSilver, 600 seems cheap. I think there could be a set lying around and these boys want to get rid of it. The front struts are 51mm I measured today. I got quoted on Koni adjustable by Repco...through whiteline mind you, and the fronts are $275 each while the rears are $240 each. Donnellans quoted me $690(for 2) for the fronts fitted and $540(for 2) for the rear fitted.

  12. I know how much you like to wiggle you bum, but probably a good idea to see if they can throw in a whiteline rear swaybar into the package as well.

    Hehehe i know what you mean :) that was in the old car, those crazy days are over :unsure: . Im getting the front strut brace for 70, its from a zz122 it should fit the 123R. Anyhow, does anyone know the Outside Diameter of the front strut??

    Is it 45mm or 51mmm.Cheers guys.

  13. I have taken some measurements, the stock 05 sportivo has a gap of 70 mm from guard to tyre on the front and 80 mm on the back. Lowering it 40 mm would give you obviously 30 for the front and 40 for the back, perhaps lower after the springs set in, so being quoted for $280 for whiteline springs and $600 for eibach shockers installed, all up $880 installed, thats not a bad deal.....what do you guys reackon???
