its correct, if you like cheap quality generic parts that may/or may not fit into your engine bay its a winner hahaha, dont forget the rest of the parts that the kit does not include that you will need like ecu!

it doesn't fit, your steering column etc sits in the way.

Nice one xoom,

I am still waiting on new people to ask the ancient question, supercharge or turbocharge :P

I have been through that epic info thread many a times, and it works out to be a considerable amount..

Myself and info from others here took the time, effort and $$ to r&d for the kit I had... shame that turned out sour :(

But I hope people can learn from others mistakes :D after all, that's what modding is all about!

I think this is more like it:

http://www.turbo-kits.com/corolla_turbo_kits.html

Your probably looking at around 3 to 4 grand for the kit.

But yeah, there's a lot of extras if you want to work the internals, I don't know how much boost the engine can hack with out causing too much wear.. I'm quite noob when it comes to forced induction tho, but I been reading up hear and there.

I heard anywhere from around 6-8 psi should be fine without working the internals, but I'd never risk it.

Can someone elaborate on this?

that kit still wont fit. The kits designed for Left Hand Drive vehicles dont fit cars in Aus.

Best way is to have a local shop fabricate a steam pipe manifold and pipework to suit your car.

Good point, thanks for pointing that out too.. I was looking at Xoom's thread, 11k is heaps but it sounds right too

The turbo setup on my 2zz has cost:

Steampipe Manifold - $600

Custom TD05-18G turbo - $700

525cc MWR Injectors - $435

Fuel Rail mod - $60

Fuel Pressure Reg & return system mod - $300

Dump pipe - $200

Cooler - $180

Full aftermarket ECU - $1700

Silicone joins & Clamps - $140

Bosch 3 bar map/intake air temp combo sensor - $45

PK20R-11 denso plugs - $28

6 puck Xtreme Clutch - $200

That's close enough to $5K once a BOV & cooler pipes are included.

If I wanted to go with forged pistons I'd buy a new short motor from toyoa Aus for $2200 and a set of drop-in mahles, gasket kit, head bolts and some other small stuff from MWR. That would total less than $5K.

If you can't do the assembly/installation yourself then the largest part of your budget will be labour from whatever workshop/s you use (usually $80/hr and a ton of hours required).
