I heard the next generation Prius' hybrid system will be half the weight and cost as the current one.

I hope they keep it looking different. That's been one of the selling points. The Highlander and Camry hybrid haven't been selling as well as the Prius, because a person who buys one doesn't stand out from the crowd. That has some appeal though.
