OK here we go ... will a standard 'Stivo back box bolt straight onto a IZZ-FE flange ?? and wtf do they have those springs on the bolts for??.. and will it make any difference (I'm guessin YES..better flow. ).

OK guys shoot me down in flames....!!

You mean the muffler? It should do, as they are available from Toyota dealers for the 1zz models.

The springs on the bolts provide tension, so the exhaust doesn't rattle and vibrate the bolts loose....

But make sure when installing that you don't tighten up the spring bolts on the flange completely, otherwise they won't absorb the vibration and you get rattles.

northy is correct. The pipes are different diameter so, if the spotivo muffler doesnt have the flange on it you will have to sort something out ;)

not only do you need to look at the engine (1zz vs 2zz) you also need to look at the chassis. 1zz hatch has different size muffler to the sedan and to the wagon. the shortest is the hatch and the longest is the wagon.

i helped a friend in sydney to do this modification. because the oem sportivo muffler had no flange so one was made for it. it is on the facelift and is only for looks there is no difference in sound.

be careful when you loosen and tighten the flange bolts. because there is movement if the holes are not aligned it is easy to strip the thread (i did :( )
