Wheels for Hilux

Removing low beam bulb 2014 Camry
Just wanted to add this here since I've just been through the very same dilemma and for some reason it's so difficult to find reliable info on the 'net for Australian cars. The globe does just pull out from that holder (referring to OP's posted photos). I was worried, too, and even found someone saying to undo those metal clips latched onto the sides of the plastic body. Mine was tight as anything but just had to grab the glass (it's actually quite strong - but be as gentle as practicable) and just wiggle the globe assembly back and forth while pulling on the globe. Eventually it will start to move a little and just keep wiggling and pulling until it comes out of its socket. What I haven't worked out yet is how to get the new globe back in the headlight assembly (on the passenger side with very limited room) without the new globe bumping into every piece of metal and plastic in that limited space and then how to get the holder aligned properly in the hole and pressed in deeply enough for it to latch (with a twist) back in to place. Possibly I didn't seat the globe down far enough when I inserted it back into that. holder. After that I need to tackle the front parking lights on both sides. So far (per a US video) I may need to go in from the wheel well? Crikey. -

2020 Corolla service question
Hey guys! just purchased my first ever Toyota. December 2020 Corolla accent sport 2.0L with 32k on the clock. When I purchased it I looked at the log book and it had a service at 16’000km and one at 32’000km. Not thinking too much more about it after getting it I’ve realised the service between 16k and 32k was 2.5 years apart!! 😫 kilometer wise it’s not too far off but not having a service for 2.5 years is concerning to me as someone who’s very passionate about doing oil changes very regularly and keeping on top of my maintenance of a car! I can’t see any sludge or anything under the oil cap and it looks clean inside but I wanted to get your thoughts on any long term impacts this could have, and any suggestions on how I can rectify it! the last oil change was done about 2 weeks ago and I’ll definitely make sure I do another oil change no longer than in 6 months time. also what’s a good amount of time between gearbox services for a Toyota Corolla (intend to do it more often than what the log book suggests) -

Help - Blowing white smoke
Have you also given the vacuum hose a clean i.e.with a spray of de-greaser. Maybe be also give the throttle body a cleaner which may help to remove any oil related film in the intake. something else that i did was to fit an oil catch can which has since been removed. The real solution to fix this white smoke issue was to thoroughly clean the valve cover and also any oil sludge build up in the valve train. Something else that i did as temporary measure and to confirm that it was oil sludge build up issue was to temporarily disconnect the PCV valve from the valve cover. I taped off the pcv valve so it was unable to suck in an excessive amount of air. I also blocked the valve cover hole opening with some filtering material. The white smoke on start up should stop within a few weeks. If it continues, I would do another clean of the front valve cover with particular attention to the section leading to the pcv valve. -

Mighty 1991 2WD Hilux lives to fight another day
Hello All, Proud (second) owner of a 1991 2WD Hilux. Just spent the last few hours putting in a new starter motor. Was pretty sure the original was cooked, I noticed it was on the way out (420,000 km on the clock, the original starter had a good innings I reckon) A few basic checks, and relatively simmilar model youtube email and I couldn't wait to get stuck in. (I've never changed out a starter motor before) Whilst doing the job realised how much I enjoy working on an older model car. It cost me $270 for the starter motor but the therapy benefits were priceless. When I finished, put everything back together, accounted for all the tools lest one be lurking in the engine bay somewhere) turned the key it just started first pop like usual (hurray for Japanese engineering!). As I knew it would. Recently I had paid some muppets $600 to find a diesel leak which they never did... it's still leaking diesel. (Subject of future post in the hilux forum I reckon) Part of the reason I am here really... In the age of "computer says no", crappy service, poor tradesman I think I would rather just do it myself. And the other reason is if anybody needs advice on changing out a starter motor on a 2L toyota engine (and 3L and TOYOTA HiLux LN56 LN60 LN61 LN65 LN65R LN85 LN86 eng 2L 2.4L apparently) then I'm the man to ask! (There are some trick shots involved!) -

Help - Blowing white smoke
So I replaced the PCV Valve and for a couple of days, it was great no smoke. Then yesterday the white smoke was back when I started the car only. It seems to be only when I start the car now, which I suppose is bonus. Any other suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated. -

With Toyota entering Aus Super Car racing
With Toyota entering a V8 Supra into Australian Super Car racing will Toyota have to keep building the Supra past 2025 ? Also, will Toyota have to build a V8 road going version of the Supra to comply with Super Cars construction rules ? -
