The Sword of Truth Sequence

Sheer epicness

If anyone has read and/or is a fan of Terry Goodkind (like myself) then you might like to know that The Sword of Truth is coming to TV screens.

I'm worried, but given that he's meticulous (and that fact that Sam Raimi has come on board to direct it with Terry sitting alongside him) I think this could work hopefully.

He was always approached by people to turn it into a movie, and turned them down understandably. I mean, how the hell do you fit 10 fat epic novels into a movie?

It's rumored to start shooting within weeks now (mid May) and will be based on 1 hour long episodes. There will be 22 episodes shot in the first series by the looks (which seem to be based on the first novel 'Wizards First Rule').

One step at a time though. Personally, I'm fairly excited.

An ex-gf gave me this book to read and it was the most boring **** I have ever read. Sorry Heinz

Dude, as if you'd like Fantasy anyway. I'm not surprised lol.

Oooh, slurs on character...

Your move, Micky...

Probably giving him cred actually, given that he isn't a raging closet nerd like myself lol.

Ok for leroy's sake...

Yeah, well... Rob doesn't like action movies... So there. Yeah. Take that.

That's more like it...

...given Micky's hate for fantasy, I doubt he'd know how to use one...

... so that means I'm putting my money on Heinz.

Alright ladies, I want a fair fight, a clean fight.... and a ham sandwich. With a pickle.

And one for Tony... just the pickle that is.

I quite liked the first 3 books but it was rather downhill from there.

I got given the latest one (Confessor?) and it is still sitting on the shelf unread. They ar just all kinda the same story...

Should make an interesting series tho. But will an aussie TV company buy it? (I suppose the fans will "torrent" it anyway.) If not, then it will just play on Fox.

Yeah you really have to be a Goodkind fan to appreciate all of them. I personally only got up to Soul of the Fire. I should start reading them again.

I'd say Showcase or something will have it on Foxtel. Be in the same vein as Dexter (which some people have regarded as a little too hardcore for regular TV). Given the graphicness of his novels this seems pretty accurate.

Still couldn't get over what Kahlan did to Rahl's First Officer in the first book lol.
