does anyone know if the programming of a new key can be done by simple keyturning procedure(like remotes) or does it require hookup of some toyota dealer machine? ive got a new key for my Aurion and had it cut, but now need it programmed.

the remote can be programmed like the way a member told u in 'camry' section.

For the key, u can just 'program' it. There is a chip in the key, the black part where u hold.

This is discussed long ago, for the cheap way, cut open one of your key, take the chip out, put it close to your ignition(which u insert the key).. then u can use your 'cut key' and also the originals..

Hope this help..

To buy the chip, not cheap lolz..

Yeah, you do need to put the car into programming mode. But as was already mentioned here, "Aurion sportivo paint, manual, mission oil and remote key", you will need to take it into Toyota because you need the Intelligent Tester to do so. You will be looking at about $35-$45 for them to do that.

You cannot program the key by yourself.

I am actually doing the same thing.

I bought a blank key from toyota parts service, and tried to cut it from key cutting shop which is Mister Minit(?)

(they have the tool that does the key programming) and they said the key chip type does not match between

my original master key and the blank key so I couldn't do it.

If I had the key cutting and programming they would cost me $60.

I went back to toyota parts and asked about the key, and they said there is only one kind of key for aurion

which means I got the right one.

And then, I went to the main service department and asked for the key cutting and programming.

I have an appointment on this friday for the cutting and programming and it costs $60 too.

I still doubt the key I bought is the correct one or not, but I can figure it out on this friday.

Asking Toyota is the only way to programm the key unless there are some key cutting shops with the signal copying tool.

If your key is already cut, they are gonna charge you less than $60 I guess.
