Hi Guys,

I'm new here :)

I have a 04 model landcuriser and recently I got a Pioneer head unit installed(7050BT).

The unit is fine, but antenna raises as soon as I power on the HU, doesn't matter which source I choose. I though the antenna should only raise when I use tunner.

The installer said this is by design of Pioneer, is that ture?

Thanks,

Simon

I experienced the same thing on my MR-S when I got my Pioneer HU installed.

Highly annoying for it to come up even during CD/iPod playback. My solution - replace the powered antenna with one of those stubby type ones:

Thanks for the reply. Now I know I have to live with it. Wait until antenna broken and replace it with a manual one. :(

how bout you get it wired correctly? The person who installed the unit probably wired the power antenna directly to 12v switched power so when the unit powers up on ignition, the antenna goes up, it is quite annoying! Simple to fix really

but after further research, seems like pioneer units dont have a seperate power antenna relay output, except that theyve just made the remote amp turnon wire the same for the power antenna so as soon as ur unit is powered up, the antenna raises.

I think your only fix is to get a stubby antenna previously mentioned.

I cant believe a unit of that price from pioneer dont have their own power ant relay.

or if you dont wanna change the antenna just run the wire to a switch on the dash or summin so u can control if its up or down(when the hu is on) make sure if u have amps to splice the wire and only switch the antenna.

Some headunits only have a remote on, rather than an antenna on. The installer has hooked the antenna trigger wire up to the remote on wire. Switch it, as previously mentioned, or just put up with it. I personally would just leave it.
