To TURN OFF TRACTION CONTROL

The Procedure below MUST be completed quickly, less than 30 Secs from my testing.

1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car.

2. Start the engine.

3. Engage the parking brake.

4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

6. Disengage the parking brake.

7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal.

8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).

9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).

10. Release the brake pedal.

11. Engage the parking brake.

12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

works every time for me... ;)

that's a pretty lengthy process...

this works for me in my Aurion zr6:

1. Start the engine. (with parking break on, and obviously foot on the break in aurions with push start).

2. let foot break off.

3. let parking break off fully, engage parking break again.

4. let parking break off fully, engage parking break again.

5. let parking break off fully, engage parking break again.

6. press (foot) break 2-4 times (taking your foot off the break FULLY each time you press the break).

Works like a charm every time once you get the hang of it...you just need to make sure you compleetly let out the parking break and foot break each time at the various stages.

You can try this any number of times after the engine is turned on untill you get it right (as long as you dont take the car out of park.

There is no time limit on turning off traction control after starting the engine

i have turned my traction control off...a lot in my aurion using this method.

Damn, that sounds so much more simple to remember. The moment I read that, I was like "I'm so going downstairs to test that" so I could see if the non push button start works with it, then I remembered that I can't :(

A little orange light that looks like a car with skid marks should appear in the bottom right of your dash board. Have you tried using the procedure SecaBoy gave?

hey sorry stupid question but do you mean the little traction light will come on to say it has worked? Or it won't show when you break traction anymore?

If traction control is working, the light will turn on for a few seconds when you start the car, then it should turn off. This indicates the self check was positive and traction control is ready. When you loose traction and the system does its job, the traction control light will flash.

If you follow the procedure to turn traction control off, it will first go through the self check and the light will turn off. Once you complete the sequence, the traction control light will then come on and stay on until you next start the car. If the traction control light comes on and stays on after the car has started and you have not done any turning off sequence, you should see your nearest service department.

Blah doesn't seem to be working for me :( the traction light doesn't come back on at all? Maybe it's differnt for prescrras? Or I'm just doing it wrong? LOL I tried both methods

You gotta get the timing right and follow the instructions exactly. You gotta do it within like 5 or 10 seconds for it to work.
