Underdrive lightweight Crank Pulley for ZRE152 (2ZR-FE Engine)

Recommended Posts

Looking for any people that could be interested on an 10% underdrive and lightweight crank pulley for your

2ZR-FE powered Corollas.

This US company NST (Non Stop Tuning) http://www.nonstoptuning.com

specialized on lightweight pulleys a large number of different car models has developed an under drive pulley for the Scion xD.

This pulley will work on all the 2ZR-FE powered cars.

I have a 2008 Yaris TS powered by this new 1.8 engine.

Anyway, NST has requested at 14 interested people to join a group buy in order to have the first production run of the pulley done. We already have 9 people who joined the GB.

The initial price for the pulley ( Group buy price) will be $99 USD. Shipping to AUS should not be that bad. Probably $20-$30

I believe this is like the best bang for the buck performance wise. The gains of the pulley pretty much compare to the gains of a CAI or an exhaust by a fraction of it's price.

Just for reference, independent dyno testing on the NST under drive pulley for the 1.5L Yaris, showed a solid 3WHP gain all across the power band. And the Yaris crank OE crank pulley is lighter than the 1.8l crank pulley.

So I would not be surprised to see a 4-5WHP gain from this pulley.

On top of that HP gain, there are other benefits that ca not be measured on a dyno. Like the improved fuel economy, smoother idle and the best of all... improved throttle response.

take a look at your stock pulley, you will see it's a bonded type, where the outer drive section is bonded to the inner section that bolts to the crank with urethane. This helps to prevent vibration etc being transferred from your accessories (AC/PS/Alt) to the crank, and through to your main bearings.

The good aftermarket crank pullies are of the same design as the stock pulley with bonded construction. The 1 piece pullies transfer all the extra vibrations etc directly to your main bearings.

An example of a bonded aftermarket pulley can be seen here: http://www.norburacing.com/files/1996962/u...Poster_2007.jpg

And another more credible example here: http://www.titanmotorsports.com/titmotdamcra.html

FWIW Cusco's crank pulley's are also bonded.

So in other words, don't buy this?

What I can tell you is that hundreds of people are running the NST pulleys in the states on their Yaris and their Scions... thousands of combined miles of usage...

There ara pages and pages of ONLY positive reviews... not only one problem reported on years.

I used to have a 1.5L Yaris and I had the NST pulleys installed for a couple of years and I loved it. I beat the crap put of that little car and never had a problem.

Now I have a 1.8l Yaris and I want some an underdrive pulley for my new car. This is a 2008 Yaris T-Sport. Believe me I don't want to screw up my engine!!

NST already designed the crank pulley and only requested a min of 14 initial buyers. There are already 10 ppl signed. We just need a few more to make this happen...

See this thread for tons of reviews:
