ENGINE LIGHT WONT GO AWAY!!!!!!

ok iv had a problem in the last couple of days.. for the people who remembered i was gona slap in a 3sgte in my corolla but iv scrapd that idea and sold the motor and im geting a CP9A EVO 6.... and now its come time to sell my corolla so iv taken off my CAI and put the stock air box on.. but the problem now is the engine light is on .. and the car wont rev past 3 000rpm.. iv correctly put the AFM bak on and checkd for other crap.. but im honestly stumpd i got no idea!!... any one got a rough idea wat iv done?

Well obviously you have stuffed something up for the computer to log a fault.

You need to find someone with a diagnostic tool, plug it in, and see what the code that has been logged means.

I would imagine something to do with the MAF or VSV

forgive my ignorance< but would disconnecting the battery the reset the ECU provide a refresh of the thing, maybe it'd say "oh right< air flow seems stock now, fine to go as normal" ... :blink: ...worth a try ?

My guess is you switched the ignition on while the AFM was unplugged...

Open your fuse box in the engine bay, pull out the EFI fuse for 20 secs and put it back in...

Saves the hassle of resetting everything after battery disconnecting ;) ...

That's what I did in the same scenario. Accidentally forgot to plug the MAF sensor back in and it threw not only the 'check engine' light, but the 'Check VSC System' as well. I took the fuse option and didn't loose my clock or my stereo settings.

yeah guys i tried that .. first off i thought let me disconnect the battery and then i even did took out the fuse .... but i susd it was the AFM... i got no idea but i must of completely shat it self..!! soo i had to go out and get another 1

but now the car runs sweet as!!
