next up

330ci car was immaculate!

paint was in very good condition, just some light swirling . cobwebbing.

colour was a very dark metallic green / blue

pictures arent the best.

products used:

optimum no rinse

meguiars #80

meguiars #21

pinnacle souvern

gave it a wash with optimum no rinse and bought it into the garage to inspect under lights. taped up the trim.

gave it a quick clay, but the cars paint was pretty clean, clay bar was clean.

here is the hood after a wash

2196IMG_6748.JPG

tried menzerna po73cp on a portion of the bonnet, took out 80% of the swirls.

decided to try po106ff on another portion.

for some reason the 106ff only removed about 60% of swirls.

i then switched pads, and moved onto #80

that tended to finish what i was after.

here is the bonnet after a couple of passes

2196IMG_6765.JPG

rear quarter after 2 passes.. can see my car on teh reflection

2196IMG_6751.JPG

some light cobwebbing on the rear pillar

2196IMG_6754.JPG

one pass of #80

2196IMG_6755.JPG

boot done with 2 passes

2196IMG_6759.JPG

another bonnet shot. this section of the hood got po106ff, then 3 x #80

2196IMG_6763.JPG

polished off the whole car, side mirror and door handles got scratch-x on them.

here is the bonnet with #21 applied

then topped with beauty wax souvern..

finished

2196IMG_6776.JPG

2196IMG_6777copy.jpg

great depth

2196IMG_6779.JPG

love the LED's

2196IMG_6781copy.jpg

me shot

2196IMG_6782.JPG

2196IMG_6778copy.jpg

i found applying souvern difficult only because i didnt buff it off straight after i applied it..

overall i was pretty happy with the end result

Liberty GX

cars paint was relatively smooth already, no clay bar needed.

gave it a quick wash with QEW, ready for polishing.

polsihed with #83 on a megs cutting pad via rotary

then menzerna po73cp on a megs polishing pad via rotary

hand waxed with NXT

inspected the paint, and it had alot of deep scratches

alot of them i didnt get out

here is a before pic of the hood

2196IMG_6657.JPG

tried the SSr 2.5 with cutting pad

although it worked ok, on this paint, it became real stubborn to buff off.

pic of it worked on with SSR 2.5... can see some scratches i didnt get out with 2 passes

2196IMG_6696.JPG

i then switched to meguairs #83 with a cutting pad.

before pic of the right quarter

2196IMG_6659.JPG

hit it with #83 twice, and just look at the gloss and wetness now

2196IMG_6660.JPG

drivers side door. as you can see alot of scratches and swirling

2196IMG_6662.JPG

two passes

2196IMG_6664.JPG

random shot of the rear door after polished

2196IMG_6678.JPG

now onto the boot. before pic

2196IMG_6684.JPG

now after

2196IMG_6685.JPG

finished shot, doesnt look soo crash hot here :(

no sun, and a white car

2196IMG_6705.JPG

hope you like :)

hey! im in the SE suburbs of melb too!

maybe we can meet up & have an uber detailing session sometime! though i must say, the beauty of clear coats is their ability to shine on an easy job, its them single stages that require even more patience and time, even on machinery.

good to see youre using a variety of stuff including some megs.

just letting you know, #80 will soon be obsolete (though not in aust for a while), ive specifically ordered a bottle of the new #205 from the states with their new micro abrasive formula, along with some tin cans of #16 (think im the only few in aust to get some) and some #26 liquid. cant wait for UQW to come out!

wot polisher is in your ****nal?

lol, are you by any chance on the MOL forums?

wots #61?

supercheap had the meg's brushes range on uber specials, a wheel face brush was $12off retail. they may be discontinued soon in aust so grab them as collectables!

give #21 2.0 a go when u have time, heard it was the 'in' sealant atm.

btw, what clay do u use? atm megs have released their replacement clay package yet, so mmmmmmm

i just use normal megs retail clay.

dont really need to try all the new stuff since the stuff i have now is more than capable :)
