About the only gain you will get from the panel filter really is slightly more induction noise. A lot of this will get muffled out by the resonators and the design of the intake, so realistically that gain in noise is not much. I guess you will have the advantage of a re-usable filter, and when the stock ones cost like $35 each, the K&N panel filter works out a good price.

When the Aussie/American dollar was good (whichever one; I'm not good with economics), it would have been best to get one from the States. Elgine (TRD Aurion Owner) paid about USD$77.05 posted for his. Now isn't the best time to get it however. If you get Autobarn or the likes to order one in for you, expext to pay something like $120+ for it.

The Varex are a good choice when you are after the sound of a straight pipe after the resonator (which is quite a nice sound), but also want to make things quiet. They are a bit pricey at about $350 per muffler though.

I went to Repco yesterday & they make a replacement filter, but most stores dont have them in stock because its a 'newer' car & most are getting it all done through Toyota servicing.
