1) disconnet the battery for 30mins+

2) reconnect the battery and let the car idle for 5-10mins (make sure all the acessories are OFF)

3) turn the car off and disconnect the battery for ~30sec

4) reconnect the battery, start the car and drive the rings off it.

hey guy. do you understand what it mean? the car idle for 5-10min, should i have to start the engine and take off all the car audio cable and hid kit cable? so, i just have to connect power cable and ground cable and disconnect other cable?

please give me a hand on it. i am confusing

Cheers :ph34r:

What does resetting the ECU do to the car?

Does that mean you can re-teach the car to a new driving style?

Posted

correct me if im wrong but the purpose of resetting an ecu is so that it can adjust to the new mods or wateva performed on the car and also to delete or wipe n e previous memroy stored on the ecu.....

also the ecu is always adjusting accordingly to the way u drive...in other words if u drive like a grandma (term used by shao) than ur ecu will adjust accordingly however if u drive like a maniac itll do the same too... ;)

yer so n e way hope that helps

n a shout out must go to northy...otherwise i would be clueless :blink:

hey all,

I noticed after i had reset my ecu, my car now runs lower rpms (with and without a/c on).

e.g.

idling:

b4 = 1000rpm; after = 800rpm

100km/h:

b4 = 3400-3500rpm; after = 3200-3300rpm

any thoughts???

That's not possible. The idle may have reset, but revs at a certain road speed won't change unless you alter the gearing (gearbox or diff).

Or maybe your tacho is inaccurate...

maybe wind conditions could have played a part...

b4 = headwind; after = tailwind

just a thought

the most plausible explanation could be the use or non-use or air conditioning. :lol:
