Rear Seat Belts

Hi,

I've got a ZR6 2008. the other day I had to ride in the back seat

and found that if the seat belt was fully pulled out and fitted on

me, it sounded like a ratchet spanner being spun around when the belt

retracted in, but it was impossible to pull the belt back out it

just got tighter and tighter the only way to pull it out was to

release the belt buckle and let the belt fully retract then it work

as it normal until it was pulled out again. It's the same

with both rear seat belts.

Has anyone else got the with there seat belts in the rear.

Taking it in to Toyota to have them checked out.

That's a standard feature on a lot of seatbelts for years, it's an extra safety feature for baby seats etc so that the capsule doesn't rock etc under loads that aren't enough to trigger the inertia reel (the locking mechanism when you ***** suddenly on the belt). Very helpful for going for a spirited drive too, you can pull the seatbelt all the way out and then it automatically tightens around you, stops you sliding around more in the seat.
