Hey guys & gals...

Just wondering if any of you have noticed the gaps in the panel fitting on the Aurions?

there seems to be quite a difference in some areas from a 2mm gap upto 5mm in some areas,one area that bugs me most is where the bootlid butts up against the tailight & 1/4 panel (it looks uneven).

p.s i've looked at other Aurions on the street & caryards and they seem to be the same,some worse than others...mine seems to be about average.

I had a look at mine and can confirm that there are minor variations in assembly. For example, I had a look at the tail lights like you mentioned. Everything looks pretty even but I did measure a 1mm difference in gap from left to right.

Apart from that, everything is relatively even. The only other join that I came across that was noticeable if you looked hard enough was the bonnet. On the left (passenger) side, the gap remains even from front to back. On the right side though, the gap increases by 1.5mm at the back compared to the front.

Even had toyota comment on the gaps in the passanger front panels on mine, complained about the passanger front door closing loudly (petty I know) - They tried to tell me the vehicle had been in an accident despite me having a full documented history of the car.

small variations, gaps are between 2-3mm out compared to the drivers side.

Despite these minor gaps, I still find it amazing that the car is able to be welded together by robots on a production line.

At least with these gaps, the car is still sealed so no water can enter when it rains. That would be my biggest problem.

My last car was a commodore - I'm more than happy with the panel gaps on the Toyota :D

Spoke to my Toyota dealer today about the gaps...next time i bring it in they will look at it and make a decision on what to do.

i'm not gunna hold my breath...
