why didn't this thread show up before when i searched for it?

i screwed mine in using the self tapering screws... yes its not the safest thing to do, perhaps i will have to get 2 of those bolt and nut combo from bunnings with a washer to make sure it will never come loose. i tried make the pilot hole a tight one so that the screw sits firm inside

i measured it in a way that the extinguisher is snuggly touching the floor of the car so the only possible force that can make it come loose is sideward force (ie. hard cornering)

wasn't comfortable drilling holes in the chassis but now its done so yeah... plus i don't think drilling 2x 2mm holes would hurt right??????

See link to my thread. I got a F.E. for Winton coming up but am not sure how to mount it. Planning do like Jason's setup but only spot available (without drilling holes) is in front of passenger seat. Also due to limited space and position of existing, need some 90 degree brackets. Not sure if this is the way I should go about it. Please see the link above and advise. Thanks! :)

I have mine at the very base of the drivers seat, makes for easy access.

I'm installing mine soon and it will be either in front or behind the passenger seat. I'm thinking behind the passenger seat so it's outta sight/looks more normal from a quick glance (being a coupe).

Yep, definitely at the front for easy access.

Was thinking of attaching a bracket like this to the existing bolts, but not sure..

Would that be too weak in the worse case, an accident? *touch wood*

Passenger footwell with custom bracket brace
