Hi all

I am a recent and proud new owner of a silver Sportivo. drives like a dream. My previous car was an 89Celica coupe and so naturally the high seating position of the rolla took a little getting used to.

I must say that the Corolla is much much much quicker than i originally thought. I test drove both the levin and the sportivo and I immediately fell in love with the sportivo.

The only negative thing i have to say about the corolla is that its not as inspiring as the celica. Which is a good thing for my licence =) I find that I am more willing to throw the celica around a little more and the handling is mucn more communicative. I am not sure at this stage if its a experience/confidence thing. I have taken it to life two or three times after the 1k km mark.

Are there any modded Sportivos out there. I am considering lowering and the sprotivo front grille for starters. I don't know why Toyota didn't include the black grille as standard. $250 unpainted is what i was quoted by Peter Warren Toyota in Warrick Farm

Cheers!

Welcome :D

Here you will find many a modified sportivo, and im not just talking about grilles and eyelids <_<

I have taken it to life two or three times after the 1k km mark.

Im sure, or hope, you are talkin about LIFT? if so its fun, and anyone with the new sportivo or celica will agree. BTW by comparing it to the celica, are u reffering to your 1989 model (5sfe) with 100kw or the new celica with the same 140kw motor as your sportivo?

I havent driven the sportivo, but i can say itd feel and handle a bit different to the celica, given the different body design and overall interior.

Looks like we'll have to catch up one day for a meet and explore this celica vs sportivo idea

welcome mate and hope to see you cruising soon.

WELCOME!

i agree that the new rolla has much less feed back, but all new cars are like that. its cos of driving aids such as abs and power steering. coming from an old without abs and powersteering will take a while to get used to it but u just have to be more sensative. the seating position dosnt help either.

When i first got my Sportivo i found that the steering was really light, my old car was low but after a few weeks of driving the Sportivo i found that the whole suspension setup settled down and now it handles pretty well, I admit that it does body roll and lowering the car 30 - 40 mm will fix this but for standard the handling is pretty ok

Thanks for the replies guys. I bought my car from Penrith Toyota. it's a long way to travel but i was referred there and the service is great. Sales and service staff are very effecient (sound's like i'm advertising for them hehhe)

I just hit 1800km and had my first service this morning.

I agree, the more you drive it the more you love the car.

I'm looking forward to the next cruise so i can check out what ppl have done to their cars.

blackrolla, I am close enough to the liverpool area. Fairfield to be exact.

Anyways, Cheers guys.
