The best cover I ever heard was Pearl Jam doing 'Rockin' in the Free World'!!!

Another one up there was Bodyjar doing 'Hazy Shade of Winter'

And or course who could forget Reel Big Fish's version of 'Take On Me'

I'm going to have to say The Wrights' version of Evie.  My current "Music of Choice" in the wagon ...

You reckon they'll end up drug f**ked and living in a Byron Bay caravan park like the original Steve Wright is now... ;)

I don't mind the Brick Track by Salt N Pepa... taken samples from Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall' although they didnt actually cover it....

Just so you know...the most horrendous covers I've ever heard are:

Madonna - American Pie (McLean)

Evanescence - Zero (The Smashing Pumpkins - how dare they make an attempt at that song...nu metal freaks)

PANIC! At the disco - Tonight Tonight (The Smashing Pumpkins - once again a crummy emo band tries to cover 'THE' band of the 90's, lame lol)

The only band that covers the Smashing Pumpkins and does a good job of it is the Smashing Pumpkins lol.

They re-write and re-structure a lot of their own songs, both 1996 - 2001 and also 2006 ;) Can't wait for them to return.
