Well - i've been away from my normal home for 3 mths and will continue to do so for another 3. So heck, i brought my detail gear with me just in case i felt like detailing my car - or others.

I had a request and so wala. Detail as per documented.

Paint Code: 250 Phantom Black - Astro physical finish

Paint Type: Clear Coat

Class: Daily Driver

Detail Type: Ultimate

Waiting Time: 8-9 hours (For the client)

Did I have fun? Yes and no. Its annoying to see how people use a dirty garage cloth to wash their cars. For goodness sake use lambswool at least.

Initial conditions

Dirty.

Hard to reach places filled with dirt. new car designs are sometimes retarded. U'd never see something like this on...a foreign luxury make.

P1080728%20copy.JPG

Looks clean hey?

P1080729%20copy.JPG

Not Very. Hard to reach places on the alloys. a detailer's and owner's nightmare - literally.

P1080731%20copy.JPG

Tyres dirty. Tyre wall showing signs of cracking already. They are 1 year old.

P1080732%20copy.JPG

Pretty much like this all through out. Dirt Stained. U have to be real careful with washing.

After wash condition. That bottle might look like a waterless solution, but i used D14001 from the Meg's Detailer Line

P1080755%20copy.JPG

Clay Time! Meguair's retail level clay with not Quik Detailer, but 1:1 dilution of Last Touch from Meg's Detailer Line.

P1080772%20copy.JPG

Contaminants from the bonnet - 1/3 only. not too bad.

P1080773%20copy.JPG

Contaminants from the doors. fine example of lots of country driving.

P1080782%20copy.JPG

Contaminants from the rear bumper - insanely too much for me to handle. this car is only 1 year old. goes to show how long this car spend in the new car yard before sale.

P1080864%20copy.JPG

Results are not perfect but chances are the client will put the scratches back on again.

P1080873%20copy.JPG

After a long long time of D151-ing, application of x2 coats of Tech Wax 2.0, with a 24hour resting time and then the 2nd coat applied.

Note, no mls of pressure on wax application.

P1080889%20copy.JPG

P1080891%20copy.JPG

Waxation to be hazed off.

P1080897%20copy.JPG

LSP stage - UQW applied with x2 of these Megs Supreme Microfibre cloth. they might cost you a BOMB but heck, they are the the BEST.

P1080925%20copy.JPG

I tried so hard to focus on anything, but there were minmal swirls and cobwebs to focus on. so i had to increase the length of foto capture. this was the best i could do with my TZ15

Note: I mentioned that x2 coats of Nxt Tech 2.0 was applied, both applications separated in 24hour lengths.

Reason: It has been chemically proven to enhance the effect of even application and prolong wax duration. The chemists in Meguiarland have mentioned thats when nxt 2.0 is best chemically bonded to apply the 2nd coating - after a 24hour cure time

This 24hour cure time is also applicable for UQW & UQD - esp UQD as it further enhances gloss.

nice gts, i love the way they drive :) gorguz cars i feel privileged to work on them !

Posted (edited)

the gts was nice to drive. i took it for a spin on the mountain (mt panarama here in bathurst) and geez, dont do that again because you'll be biting yourself every single second you're at or under 60km/h (which was the whole duration because thats the speed limit!!!). if you're over, the cops have you within SECONDS lol.....stalking you, radar gunning you to check, check and recheck LOL. they only do that on cars they know are worthly to grab some commission har har har.

drinks like a truck - but then again which aussie car doesnt?

clutch was surprisingly easy and light. no wonder p-platers &/or hooners like them. i thought it would be a heavy one so i accidentally went from 0-40km/h in lightyear speed.

it was a new car and i found some panels worth of a warranty check <_< was not impressed by the build qualty of these things.
