AJW's Yaris YRX

Ladies and gentlemen,

My nice new (to me) YRX. Currently stock standard but definitely glad I was able to get the YRX. I came from a 1994 Lancer and its definitely a major improvement - a brilliant introduction to the Toyota family. Love the smoothness of the drive and given the size of the 1.5L engine you still get that feeling of exhilaration as you drop the gears and hit the accelerator. Can't wait to get in a give it a good lot of TLC (including some cleaning up of the paintwork) and make her all that she can be with the help of other forum members, but for now I might take it easy and appreciate it in its stock form.

Looking forward to heading out to some Brisbane meets and getting some ideas and helpful information. Now you would all know what a stock Yaris looks like but here are some photos taken from earlier this evening. Excuse the quality of the photos since it was taken on an iPhone, but you get the idea. The photos don't do justice as to how reflective the paintwork actually is:

Welcome to the forums! Nice buy!

If you need some Yaris bits, let me know as I've still got heaps of parts left from my part out.. ;)

An intake and a rear sway bar works wonders for these cars.

My partner has one as well in red stock too and the car has been brilliant for the past 5 years. Can't wait to see what you will do to it!

Cheers

Wang

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! After making that post last night I have finally had the full day today to really get used to the car, however it wasn't until tonight that I really have gotten to the stage where I can say that I LOVE my new car!! After a bit of a week of ups and downs I felt the need to clear my head a bit and figured why not just stay on the road for a little longer so I filled her up for the first time and ended up taking her for a quick spin around Mt Cootha. It's been a long time since I have done anything like that in my old Lancer and I have got to say that she blew my mind a little with how comfortably she corners and handles even with a total novice at the wheel.

Anyway, was just so happy with the car that I had to note this down. Thanks again for the great welcome!
