Hi,

My car has fine scratches/spider web like marks over the entire car (the type that can only be seen in the sun looking on the right angle etc)

any tips how to remove them and what products to use etc (step by step  )

The car is a deep blue

thanks,

cut and polish,

not sure what brands to use, or if you would prefer to do it by hand or machine,

as far as i know, i'd do it by polishing,

It depends on the swirls. You wouldn't cut and polish your car because you have light swirls all over the car; a swirl remover/cleaner wax would be sufficient. Then the equipment you use will play a part as well.

I won't say much more about paint correction as I am not particularly familiar with it.

Pictures can tell a thousand words right here.. it really depends on how bad your swirl marks are..

general rule of thumb: use the LEAST aggressive product to acheive what you want.. why? the clearcoat on your car may or may not be very thick, so you want to avoid removing too much of it if possible.

id point you in the direction of this threadregarding removing swirlmarks from car paint work.

read it and your efforts will make a lot more sense. :)

if your still stuck after that then post your questions here and ill do my best to help you out :) good luck mate!

Thanks,

I wouldnt call them swirl marks..just fine scratches

I used the Meguiars Swirl X on the car (by hand) and it did improve it a bit. But they are still there. VERY fine scratches that can only be seen on the right angle in direct sun light

I am going to give it another go with another product Friday then seal with a wax. Any ideas on what products to use?

thanks,

Meguiars Ultimate Compound may achieve the results you want, but just be aware it is a more aggressive product, so less is more and go slowly with it, the more you use and the harder you rub then you start really getting into the paintwork and at that clear coat. Look up the Meguiars channel on YouTube, there are some good videos on using it.
