To remove sludge the quickest way, on a straight 4/6. Drain oil and keep . remove rocker covers and sump, steam clean refit covers. Refill with old oil. Start run for 5 minutes or so drain and fill with new oil...

Used to do this working for a import shop...

Cheap oil is not the issue, lack of oil changes is the issue. I used to use cheap oil $15.95 stuff... on my ae92 corolla changed the oil every 5k . Swapped the engine out at 485,000 pull the rocker cover off inside was like new...
