just a reminder to aurion owners on the east coast to check your boot for water due to the ridiculous amount of rain we've had. just drained ******* loads out of mine.

Posted

whereabouts in the boot? i have a similar issue with the left side of the boot, wondering if it's a common issue or not. this occurs when there's rain and after i wash the car.

Posted

were your car involved in an accident before?

did you check if the boot lid seal is fitting on properly?

Posted

take out the carpet in the boot. check where the spare wheel, the jack are. never been in an accident and the seal is fine. topic has been covered alot in the past just search for more info.

Would've been easier if the warning was just posted in the actual thread.

I'll just put my .02 in here...

Had the 1st service done on my sportivo less than 6 months ago, and apparently theres a recall on one of the tail light fittings, as it didn't create a good enough seal. Mine was replaced when they did the service. Perhaps if you call your local Toyota service centre and find out if this is a problem with your model?

It may be a problem with 09 onwards, post-facelift...

perhaps so. you may be right. i'm suspecting the water to be entering via either tail light, as i notice leakage through the left side to the spare wheel, which i question is the water coming in through the left taillight, but after many visits to the dealer, the problem is yet to be verified. However, the recall was amed for facelifted variants built before the start 2010, if my memory serves me correct, but mine was built in Feb of '10.
