99 Touring Sydney

Hi all, recently picked up a 11/99 gen 4 camry touring, manual, 83,000km

A few weeks back (in calm weather) a gum tree decided to drop an 8m branch. Went straight through the rear windscreen and came to rest on the rear quarter leaving a small dent (could have been worse!). I had the windows tinted the week before so that kept the glass in place. I'll have some more pics up when I get the rear re-tinted.

Welcome to the club.

Is the council paying for the rear window?

No they won't, the tree is on our property so I'm out of pocket. We've wanted the tree chopped down for awhile so the only benefit is that now we can (after an $80 tree works application and $400 independent aborist report).

welcome to the club mate, sorry to see the damage that Gum tree snap out caused :(

$400 is not to steep,we charge $550 for a report and with all the crazy weather these days we are so busy,we are seeing more & more property damage from falling limbs and blow overs,90% of em caused by stormy weather.

did the report say the tree was safe and just needs a tidy up/pruning or was it deemed unsafe and needs removing?
