First Car - Toyota Camry Sportivo 07!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to say I bought my first car and it happened to be a Toyota Camry Sportivo 07 in Cyber Green.

I should be installing a few mods to the car in the coming year or so.

Mods to be done:

  • Looking for 18/19" wheels (possibly Lexus wheels) probably in silver (not chrome or gunmetal) - still considering kappa wheels because I think it suits my car colour
  • Dual Exhaust System (I got an OEM rear bumper kit from the USA) - Private Number installed nice dual exhaust + rear bumper a year or two again, looks very impressive! (Read the post here: http://au.toyotaowne...toyota-camry-le)
  • Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar (anti-roll 19mm)
  • Fog projector lights (TBC)

Mods on the way:

  • Ultra Racing Front Strut Bar - purchases for $100 from UR itself and $10 postage on top.

Mods completed:

  • Blue Interior Illumination (will post some images on another post as to where the wires are etc.)
  • CCFL Angel Eyes Projector from Mars_Performance Cancelled
  • HID Light Kit (great suggestion by aem)

Congrats on the purchase, supperb car looks and ride!

While you doing the rings, why not do the HID kits (both low and fogs) :)

Dual exhaust system is now a confirm - order new bumper spoiler.

It just needs to get painted in green, and then need to buy a dual exhaust system.

Any suggestions?

It wouldn't end up looking very nice unfortunately.

They're not exactly a semi-circle - they're more half egg shaped - which would mean that if I get it cut, both sides would've probably ended up in different sizes.

Toyota didn't just cut these out, they bend it up on the inside as well :)

I might try Liverpool Exhausts in Sydney and see how much they do it for.

I have to get the bumper painted first which will set me back $300 :)

I send you a PM regarding the rear lip - you'd probably have to get it painted as well since it's green.

Unless you want to paint your car green ;)

Also Simplyvandinh, you have any clues where I need to wire my footwell lighting for the front?

Ive been told Liverpool exhaust have horrible welding.

I would source them on ebay my friend. It's much cheaper. If you can't wait for the wires from hongkong try strathfield audio, dicksmith, bunnings as they supply electrical goods.

Hmmm - I will see what sort of quote they give me and then shop around at other places.

Anyone know another good exhaust place in Sydney?

Fog Update: After 30 minutes of working on the car, jacking it up and removing the undercarriage - I replaced my fog lights with Philips H11 Crystal Vision 4300K lights! Looks great, bright and gives much better vision.

Thanks for the helping hand 5seven, but i need to maybe flip the bulb so the return bar of the HID is on the bottom, i don't think it'll be a flush fit though.

As for the exhause i think you better do something with the tyres first cos not only they're bold and dangerous in the wet but the cops will defect you if you get pulled over.

Spent $700 on bumper, $300 to get it painted and lookin at another $700 for the exhaust conversion. Not sure when I'll be doing it - in need of new tyres first.

I'll post some pictures up when I do it :)

I've spent about $900 so far, got the bumper, weather shields, floor mats, HID kit and interior illumination.

I know this might sound tight but if you're on a budget, ebay or gumtree your tyres. Doing that has saved me heaps of $$. But just make sure to check the inside and outside for any faults if you do.

I'm just buying one tyre, cause I have one spare in the back. AEM pointed me to a place where I can get a Michelin for about $200 - spare in the back is still brand new.

Most of my stuff is from eBay - you can get good bargains :)

I think getting 1 new type and use the spare would be the cheapest, but then again the $205 can make a big dent into the cost of 19s package if you know whay i mean. Do what is best for you i suppose :)
