I recently had to have my car inspected at work, as I drive clients around.

The report came back okay, but they have identified " Lower front control arm rear bushes are age cracked and need replacing".

I'm not the most mechanically minded, but I want to know if I can replace the bushes, or do I need to replace the whole arm (This is what it says in the Gregory's manual). Also would I be better going to "Pedders" or similar and have them do it, or can I do it myself?. Does anyone have any idea how much this should cost?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I used super pro poly urethane bushes = cost about $120 all up,

Installation requires a press i think, and i got someone to do it for me for $250

Unless you are doing some serious driving, replacing the control arm bushes with poly bushes (instead of the rubber ones) is a waste of money and NVH.

Get a suspension place to do the work for you. Just replace the bushes.

I got the same report from Ultratune a month back. They quoted me 300+ PER BUSH! thats crazy. Anyway, I've been driving around and I can hear the rubber squeaking coming from the back. I reckon I will eventually have to replace it but I'm just wondering how much it will cost me. WIll it make much difference replacing one bush and replacing ALL the bushes on the car?
