Been looking for a second car for a while, it bit of an impulse buy that came up out of the blue, but its perfect and suits me well.

I lied its far from perfect but she'll be right! cant complain for the price :D

The car is an AE93 Corolla SX equipped with a 4AGE.

Current modifications include:

- Half the dash trim is silver (CARS I BUY, Y U NO ONE COLOUR INTERIOR?!!)

- Very very soft shockies on the verge of being blown

- Water pump which pumps water straight to the ground (Think of it like a Jet Ski...)

- Radiator hoses held by cable ties

- Duct tape holding drivers door trim in the correct position... kinda

- Blows more smoke than your Nan's chimney in the middle of winter!

Will get pics once the car is in my possession! ;)

So it has a short shifter, but the gear knob felt really weird... wasnt sure if it was because it was a disco ball or not so i sussed it out right away... pics do the rest of the talking.

You see when the gear knob is off there is white tape all around the stick? yeah they just smashed the disco ball on to there and it stayed on. It felt real weird though, it was all wobbly!

Steering wheel will be going after the roady, ive got one from my old AE102 which will look the goods :spiteful:

Dunno, I might just go give it a good wash today and then start ripping the motor apart.

LAWL wtf? I have an EG corolla with a b18 engine inside and it comes with lift.

I thought you had a rare JDM EP3 with a B18, not an EG?

Went wreckers today bought a few bits and bobs...

- CSi Black Front bumper

- New grill

- New front garnish thing

- Bottom half of dash in not-silver

- Glove box in not-silver

- Centre console in not-silver

- Air vents in not silver

- Standard front speakers

- Original SX head unit :D :D

- Stock gear stick

- Shifter boot in not-silver

- TEQ oil cap

- Left hand side mirror

All for 150 dorrahs!! :D :D :D

Found out that the floor mats aren't plastic checker plate after all, but rather 100% legit JDM aluminum!!! hahaha

Seems as though at one point the car also had danger to the manifold and because of this the passenger side flew out of the floor... there are still remnants of tape/glue on the carpet that used to secure it down but the manifold just had way too much pressure.

The drivers side is near impossibru to take off and is pulling the rubber off of the carpet (the part where your shoes rest) Ill try and pry it off properly tomorrow and cover the damage with my SCA floor mats i purchased.

Im actually loving this car already! :D

Todays news:

- Found $1.40 in the car

- I realised I had blue LED water jets... I also realised Jo wired them up so they are permanently on and draining my life/battery

- Car no longer has silver interior

- Car no longer has any interior

- Seats need a scrubbin

- Found lots of glass and sand - needed a bulldozer to clear it off all the carpet

- Aluminum floor mats removed and glue/tape taken off carpet

- Gear stick is back to stock

- Lots of dodgy wiring.... I mean lots.

- Central locking doesnt work on the front passenger door... -_-

Also has anyone removed the dash cluster before? I undid all the black screws in the white backing of the dash but it wont come out fully as if something is holding it back... any tips? I want to tackle the dash lighting while it is all apart.

haven't missed a screw holding the cluster in? also needs jiggling. Lots of it.

Also all the wiring and speedo cable need to be disconnected? Maybe take the wheel off to give more room for said jiggling.

can you get it out far enough to get your arm/hand behind it?

Hopefully the dodginess doesn't extend to the cluster being glued in or some bs like that

$1.40 ? cool, looks like you got your money back then  Shame the wrecker didn't have silver trim so you could complete it, guess you'll have to settle for black then...

I'm guessing you spotted the screws above cluster holding the thin piece up there.. I think the only thing holding it in is the speedo cable now

Edit: David beat me to it

Posted

Yeah spotted all 6 screws and removed them all.

Cant get my hand in far enough to remove said wiring.

Speedo cable is still attached, do i disconnect it somewhere down near the gearbox?

Thanks for the quick reply fellas!!

Oh yeah forgot bout that, yep undo the speedo cable in the bay and even push the cable thru the firewall a bit to get more room the get your hands behind the cluster
