cept i mite need to buff it some time, my painting skills werent exactly "the best"

Did you spray a few coats of clear over the white? I did about 4 coats of thick sticky laquer, then sanded it back with 2500grit sandpaper, then cut and polished them. came up mint

All out of pressure packs :D

yeh i put so heaps on. but yeh from a distance u cant tell, overall im pretty happy with it.

until i actually hav a closer look at it, it starts to bother me

whats the thinking behind using the clear over a solid colour did the guys at the paint shop recomend doing that?

no actually at first, i thought you wudnt need clear aswell. after a few coats of white it came up with a matte finish

so i just ran down to my local supercheap to get a can of clear.

More so from personal experience, having a glossy clear lacquer enables you to be able to then sand down to a smooth finish without sacrificing paint colour, And once polished, it comes up looking almost as good as if you were to paint them in 2K. Plus being on the front of the car, provides an extra layer to deflect stone chips etc :)

LOL :D all good guys, acrylic clear adds nothing protection or gloss wise, but as long as it's not some cluless sales guys @ supacheap tryin to flog yas an extra can of paint :)

It's a pitty you guys arnt local, i have a few spare ltrs of 2pak white/reducer/hardner here with nothing to paint it on :(

hahaha yeh im pre much a noob. i dunno, some reason my paint came out matte so i jus ran down bought a can of clear and just chucked it on

Defyant, I think if I buy any more body parts (spoilers etc, not kidneys) I will bypass them through you for paintwork :)

Don't know if there will be much more happening to the girl though, the Skyline bug is starting to bite again :/ We'll see...

been a while since i've posted anything of my car.

since my last post i've managed to:

-install alpine 6x9s type s front and rear, got a nice deal on em, otherwise i wud've went for the type r's

-install alpine v power 4 channel amp under front passenger seat

-got the windows tinted again

-repainted the rear diffuser and front fog light vents in a rich black. (old paint looked kinda faded)

-hid fogs (6000k)

-paint in the interior door handles silver

-foot well lights which are dimmable

-sold the magnaflow mufflers, back to standard ones, prefer it quiet (getting old haha)

more work on the car this weekend, getting bootlip swapped with a prodigy, so no more spoiler :D

will post pics this weekend of the car

been a long time no post

heres a lil quick update for 2013

bought a set of DGR coilovers 7kg front and 8kg rear

they are much comfyer than the kings springs that were on the car, had them for a few thousand k's now and no problems ^_^

bought a new ducktail all painted up just gotta remove the old spoiler

also a new set of tail lights home made by me , inspired by defyant

a lot of things slowly coming together :D

since then got the spoiler off and a new oversized ducktail onto it

a new deck, 2013 aurion shift knob, dipped the rear toyota badge in black and placed it upside down

coming soon is a roof spoiler, getting prepped up as i am making this post

the 18s will defs hav to go, maybe this summer

The ducktail was a new item that bodykits kingdom jus inported.

And as for the knob i salvaged it from a wrecker. It sits a lil higher, but feels smaller and lighter in hand :D
