Hi anyone know anything about the NOS kit? I was considering because the kit seems to cost around 1300 so it would be the best bang for you bucks?

is it effective? Should i put one in my 1zzfe rolla?

Posted

well.. if you dont mind refilling the nos tank ever so often then nos might be for you.. but if you want a permernant power gain then id advice you not too.. besides, nos is only good if you want that bit more power when you're dragging..

there are other mods you could do for $1300, xorst, unichip, headers..

What is is Xorst? Headers yeah i'll get them soon.

Yeah i just want that extra boost when i go a car i don't like.

50Hp-125Hp is not bad, cause i weigh up the gains for the money,

The unichip is going to cost 1200 plus installation.

Why does this board seem to collect all the ricers?

"NOS" is illegal in street cars... stupid to use on street cars and should be kept strictly to the tracks.

NOS is also a brand name... so by asking what price for a NOS kit then you will get one answer...

Nitrous Oxide has a few manufacturers... this new one that has a purple tank seems to be a little more popular than the NOS brand at the moment.. cant remember what its called right now though.

Id go against getting Nitrous boost in a street car... no matter what car it is.

Xorst is a slang term for Exhaust.

 I am a ricer... but I dont believe in doing illegal and stupid things that potentially can cost lives.

i agree....

knock on wood, you dont want to stack your car and find out that insurance wont cover you because of just such an illegal modification. Sometimes your car it too mangled to remove such items.

It happened to my friend.... now hes about 50 g's put of pocket....

Go with the exhaust and chip.

That purple tank NOS kit is made by ZEX, and YES NOS is an actual make.. theres also nitrous express (NX), and a couple of others.. http://xspeed.dreamhost.com/catalog/produc...products_id=282

xspeed seems to carry and install these systems but like Skitzo said, it might be illegal to have such.. but if you still want to go ahead, give em a call and see what the say

41. Dual tailpipes are good, quad tailpipes are better.

42. CAI adds 50 HP.

43. Exhaust adds 150 HP.

44. If you scream ‘NAWS’ it will explode.

 orrock classic stuff mate

Well for normal cars, using "NOS" (NAWS) will inevitably effect the longevity of an engine. theyre not designed to run Nitrous Oxide, and IF your thinking of using it to boost your car as you attemp to jump, at high speed, over opening bridges, then please end yourself now.

grimlock if you have the 1zz would that mean your engine is VVTI and NOT VVTLI(LIFT).

in which case, have you driven, or what are your thoughts on "LIFT" and would that be (or not be) what your looking for (More power at higher RPMS)?

Hahahaha. funny list dude! i've never come accross it before.

You forgot that having two buttons on your steering wheel is good for 10hp. having the switches hooked up to something (a light bulb) will up that figure to around 15hp.

Nitrous is not an easy thing to run man. it requires as much effort as using lift. You should only ever, ever engage nitrous when you have peak torque to reduce straing on engine parts. Also, you don't engage it with switches on your steering wheel. Nitrous kits are usually activated by a switch on the throttle body that will activate nitrous only under WOT. You also need to purge the system after use to make sure you don't have nitrous still in the intake system while idling or revving.

anyone looking into getting nitrous oxide system needs to research it first and see if it is really for them. one average size tank will last less than a 1/4mile run. the gains are good but strains your engine considerably.
