  1. The stivo is listed under the sports cars section with the celica and mr2.. Even if they discontinue it, it would be good for us in a way.. that would definately cause the stivo's price to hold strong :D
  2. Any links to pictures? Cuz for a 100 bucks, i'm very interested.. The dealer quoted me 270++ for a painted sports grill
  3. If you're into electronics, I'm sure you could turn it down somehow either by replacing the speaker or piezo beeper or maybe adding some resistors or a 'volume reduction' circuit! Dont know if this makes any sense but I think I just pulled it out of my a**.. B) :D If you guys found a way to turn it down, i'd like to know as well!
  4. I'd do a rwd conversion if thats possible.. then twin turbo charge it and ripout the side passenger seat and put 3 tanks of NOS there (2f2f style) + all your bolt ons, forged engine internals, LSD, 18inch wheels, wolf ems and the lot =) Yeah, and also remove the rear seats cuz I dont think they'd be of any real use, put in a roll cage in its place.. I guess that'd be about what I did if I sooo loved the corolla and won the lotto.. Which obviously would never happen either way
  5. For some unusual reason, I get excited whenever I see another stivo.. It's like a rare thing to see another stivo here for some reason..
  6. I saw this black one a week back on Haymen Rd, Perth .. had some nice rims.. A couple of silver ones like mine but their drivers didnt look much like enthusiasts.. an old granny, or perhaps an older lady.. and a young couple.
  7. I'm pretty sure the seca had em.. cuz I remember seeing it in those rental corolla hatchs..
  8. Its just an indicator to tell the driver which side his fuel door is.. the triangle is actually an arrow :) Yeah, it never goes off.. so dont worry about it.
  9. No offense taken mate :P Well, what I ment was they could have done BETTER than rip off OUR stivo parts + interior as well that was what I was gettin at.. Okay, I'll give em some credit for the facelift that their speedo is a cool white :P
  10. Those rims look like an exact ripoff our stivo ones.. and so does the side skirts.. To be honest, i think the only thing they changed is the shape of the headlights and the front bar.. thats all! <_<
  11. Those rims look like an exact ripoff our stivo ones.. and so does the side skirts.. To be honest, i think the only thing they changed is the shape of the headlights and the front bar.. thats all! <_<
  12. They PROBABLY dont use the same 2zzge engine we use and they most certainly have better suspensions and brakes.. So its not as if we're comparing our stivo on the same level ;)
  13. Welcome to the club! :D Yeah, I know what a major step up it was from a '83 Mitsubishi colt. heh..
  14. I get mad rattling and vibrations when i'm taking it past 6k on the revs.. So much vibrations i feel afraid to take it to the redline :(
  15. Logically thinking.. the chip gives more power/torque with the same amount of force as proviously used on the throttle (which is subjective) more power = more fuel burnt.. so how can the chip improve fuel economy
  16. Is keeping the needle under 4.5-5 consider normal driving? :D
  17. mate.. maybe you might have been misinformed (or i) but stivo rims arent as cheap as you think them to be.. i got quoted slightly more than 1k for ONE stivo rim from the service centre.. and those turanza rubber arent that cheap either.. 180 a single wheel. You're valuing a set of 4 at $280? That doesnt even cover 2 sets of rubber let alone the rims. I hate to say but i dont think anyone in the right state of mind is going to take you up on that trade in my honest opinion :P
  18. can the power fc be used on the stivo?? or do we have the unichip option?
  19. Yeahh.. i too suspect a lightened flywheel and maybe aftermarket cams and pulleys.. definately more than just your standard bolt ons (cai, headers + xorst).. and most definately the Power FC for it to even rev to 8.5K
  20. Okay.. i wont compare it to the commodore then, lets just say astra <_<
  21. Now ask yourself why toyota sells the most cars in australia? Heh.. they know how to maximise profits and still sell their 'tin cans' for wayyy cheaper than your holden commie.. PLUS being economical all at the same time! :P
  22. AEM doesnt make cais for our sportivos.. they only have ones for the celica and their airfilter layout isnt the same as ours.. so TRD is the only choice next to a custom setup.. the custom setup might prove cheaper than the trd set...
  23. All that really matters is where our engine froms from, and thats from japan :P Build quality and quality control is the only issue when it comes to building a japanese car out of japan..
  24. yeahh.. i like the sound of that too.. but with only us aussies having it.. i dont think it can really measure up to cult status
