Hi,

May seem like a strange question. But my car seems to rev very high when changing gears, that is, as i put the clutch in to change gears the engine revs high. Could it be me not driving correctly:) or are the latest Corolla's like this. Did not experience this in other manual cars I drove.

Thanks.

Do you release the accelerator upon depressing the clutch ?

Hi,

Yes I do. I used to drive a manual Subaru and did not Rev as much as the Corrola. Mybe just me driving a different car and have to get used to it:)

Umm maybe I should go test drive the new corolla and see if this happens...

it's the fly by wire throttle and it's a pain in the *****, my Corolla still does but it's not as bad now or I'm just used to it... You're not alone, it's not just Toyota

Hi,

Thanks heaps for the "fly by wire" answer. Great to know what it is and that there is nothing wrong with the car:)
