Awesome maaaan great stuff!!! especially the wheels are very sexy and lowering goes very well with it. Do you feel much different after the lowering in terms of comfort and drivability? Does it give you headaches when you try to park the car closer to humps?

trd_141, your car looks awesome... i love the 17's with lowered springs...

what did u pay for your springs? Also... by doing springs, muffler etc... are u voiding your insurance policy? i was worried about modding the car since AAMII are tight on mods...

I told them about my 17" wheels and the lowered springs. I asked them about the front grill and they said that if it's from Toyota and fitted by them, then it's not a mod. So that's 2 mods for me. Hmmm, I think I'll go with the CAI next, what do you think Orrock?

even though aami says the sports grill is not a modification have they got this in your record? if your car is stolen and never recovered or is written off will the new car have a sports grill and tinted windows? keep your invoices as proof.

yes i think you should get a cai.

Ammi are really good as long as you are honest with them and you are on a rating 1 they will be helpful with mods and lowering and wheels

Have had no problems - i have had to claim and it all depends on the assesor as you could be really unlucky and get a prick

Lucky for me i got this guy Tony at Springvale AMMI he was a ledgend and processed it all for me what a champ :D

The rule is to be honest with your mods and notify your insurer about them so you are covered if you have an accident that way you cant get screwed out of parts which you have put on the car to make it perform or look better

Hope that helped

I wanna get some more pics up will have to get some of the melb boys together and take some photos what you say

Cheers guys

I just called up AAMI and let them know about the CAI thats on there now.

You are right trd141 about the mods although once you go past a combination of 3 mods (mechanical or asthetic) they will review your policy manually next time it is up for renewal. If they feel it has passed their boundary, they will recommend that you go to their sister company "Just Cars" or another specialised car insurer for your 'performance' car.

It's not that they dont like to have your business it's just that other specialised insurers are better handled to deal with your car if the worst does happen.

Eg. my car is covered for around $35,000 now and it is covered by them. However it is already flagged to be reviewed next year when my renewal comes.
