Hi. I would appreciate your comments on which to fit to my 2004 Camry Grande, pros and cons for each. I had an argument with a steel post and decided I need one. Does the sat nav connect to a camera or is it too old a model? As I'm a pensioner I am not in the position where the sky is the limit. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks Tocag.:help:

From personal experience with sensors.

Pros:

Less distracting. You are able to look around while listening. Using your natural multitasking ability.

Easier and (maybe) cheaper to install.

Cons:

Bushes/shrubs don't play well with sensors. Few strands of tall grass with make it go off.

Can be headache if not installed correctly, will pick up kerbs/road surface.

Color matching to bumper

Destroyed in most rear ends.

Cameras downsides: will be pain with tiny screen, distraction from looking at said screen, sunlight/weather visibility.

Its nice to see behind but cannot honestly say one standout thing that my eyes can't do better.

I have a reversing camera and I am very happy with it. My main concern was avoiding those horror stories of people running over toddlers while reversing out of their driveway. It's not a replacement for looking around you but for me it pretty much negates the need to put my neck out trying to see out of the back window which in a 2012 model is a bit poor.

It also makes parallel parking so easy. It's like a computer game. Line up the guidelines to the kerb and you nail it every time.

Thanks for your reply. May I ask what type you purchased, fitting, price and any other relevant information? Your response was, and is, most appreciated. Cheers Tocag.

It's a factory one I think. It came with the car :)

It would appear I'm back to square one. Anyone with a constructive input that will get me towards a reversing system? Cheers Tocag.

Im looking at buying a reversing sensor and camera and a new head unit that i can display the camera when reversing.

I would probably be installing myself to save cost or getting a friend to help if i need it.

I was looking on ebay for a combo.

But im still a few months away from getting it sorted out.

But if you found a cheap way let me know.

Reason be as my missus is looking at driving it and little ones around the cars as well as i found the side mirrors are **** way to small for the size of the car.

Funny thing I have just purchased a reversing camera set up that replaces my rear view mirror as the screen is built into it and comes with two camera's front and rear front when required rear auto displayed when reverse is selected will be getting it installed next Friday. It also has bluetooth built in but for me it's not required as my head unit has that already.

Here's a link to the company.

Hi. I'm not looking for the mirror one but either one on top of the dash or, Polaris are advertising one that plugs into the Camry - in dash- GPS for $250:00 plus fitting. I don't know fitting costs and if they are any good. Still looking. Cheers Tocag.
