Hi guys. I have a '95 petrol Hilux that I bought as a project. Unfortunately my engine just blew before I had a change to get anything done. So I might as well take this opportunity to put something different in it.

I do need to keep it as cheap as possible so I can get it running again quickly. I was wondering if anyone had done this before or knew what kind of engine I could throw in this easily? I initially was thinking of throwing an SR20 or 2J in it but it sounds like this is going to be too lengthy and expensive.

Any thoughts?

When it comes to such things, the usual restrictions are time and money. NB if chassis recieves >125% original KW from new motor, it will need brake and perhaps other upgrades. Choose carefully what you put into it, it's a lot of work to do twice..
