Toyota Aurion AT-X making beating noise while climbing uphill.

Hi,

We went to Mount Buller last weekend.

While going uphill, my 2010 Toyota Aurion AT-X was making a beating sound like bit-bit-bit-bit (or dhip dhip dhip dhip ...).

Which I have never heard before in regular driving condition. Considering a powerful 3.5 litre v6 engine, I would be quite surprise if the reason is a over working engine!

The car drive smooth in regular condition.

Any suggestion?

I don't think the wheels were sleeping. Because the snow condition was not bad at all.

There could have been ice on the road. Has it happened since?

We took wheel chain with us. But we didn't need to put that in the wheel while I was driving.

I got back from Mt Buller and driving in regular flat road (not hilly area).

I haven't heard anything since then.

But I was thinking if it would come again if I go to hilly area again?

I am curious, if there is any issue in my car that is creating that noise while going uphill.

You will need to try driving uphill then.

If it still does it, you may have issues with your CV joints.
