New member - Own a 1979 hiace poptop campervan

Hi everyone,

My wife and I recently bought a 1979 hiace poptop campervan, appears to be in very original condition. Well we have put a deposit on one anyway and pick it up NSW in coming weeks. We hope to restore it to its original glory with maybe a few modern bits here and there to make it safer and more enjoyable and then do a bit of travel around Australia with our young son.

The van seems a bit different to others we have looked at, has sliding doors on both sides and apart from it being a second gen hiace I can't find out what specific model it is.

I/we hope to use this forum a lot and meet other people with same or similiar campervans to learn from and hopefully also buy parts and get info if and when we need as well.

We live in Adelaide, SA
