Currently have 1995 Toyota Corolla seca Csx

Looking for a new car, while I like the teal. The design is abit unusual & may not appear to everyone taste!

I was able to view a demo at one of our dealerships but haven't test driving.

One of the features I found that I didn't like was the rear seats didn't fold down!

Also was mentioned the Koda model had heated front seats? What happens if in event of crash? (Would the seats catch fire?) we had a house fire caused by fan heater when I was younger)

What are the features you love about this car? It's just one of the models I am considering!

What are the features you dislike?

Hi Krystal

The Rear Seats do Fold Down, all hatchbacks have this

You really need to Drive the C-HR!!, the car is Great to drive, Comfortable & very Zippy if you like

Who are you buying the Car for?, You or others?, you buy what you want, not for what others think, if you like Teal, go for it

The Heated seats catching on fire in an accident.....very much doubt it, there would be safety protocols in place

The Koba is the the Top of the Line Model, very well equipped, there are a couple things i was disappointed with, such as No Electric Seat adjustment -back and forth, no memory settings

Sun Roof not available at all and No Auto Door locking / unlocking feature. I have since purchased an OBD Device to perform that function, a simple plug in device

In regard to The Prius you are considering, it depends on what you want from a car, Hybrids are great , i have had 2 Camry Hybrids both very economical i used to average 5.6 - 5.8 l/100km

the C-HR returns (for me 6.5 l/100km) and I'm happy with that

If the C-HR was available in this country i would have bought that, no problem

Good Luck with your search!

Cheers

Eric

Hi Eric,

The Rear Seats do Fold Down, all hatchbacks have this; They called this a small SUV at the dealership-toyota specialist, they also told me the seats don't fold down-i couldn't see anywhere where the seat did fold down in the model i saw 2017. Can you tell me where to show the dealership how to fold down the seats?i did notice all 3 did have anchor points for car seats which isn't a need for me-as both my sisters are old enough to not need a car seat lol! Boot was a little small for my liking.

Thanks for the information.

Pros - Great to drive, packed full of safety tech and I love the design.  Very happy with my Koba.

Cons - very few!  You should test drive to see how you feel about the size of the blind spot.  The blind spot monitoring comes in handy, but I could see it being a source of stress for some.  I'm not a huge fan of the stereo, see the head unit thread for my very long whinge and debate over replacing it.  Short version it does the job well, just a bit ugly and clunky.

Hi Krystal

what I meant by who are you buying for is, it's yours buy what you want, don't worry about others

I am amazed the Toyota dealer does not know how to fold down the rear seats

some pics of rear seats folded down, Catch is next to where the rear seat belt is lying at top of  the rear seat by "back shelf" by rear pillar

Cheers

Eric

Eric,

You need to vacuum the carpet before putting features on public display... The aftermarket bling looks good though :)

RANT MODE:

When is Toyota Australia going to start penalizing the dealerships for having DUMB sales people who obviously have no idea about the product?

What happened to the FAMOUS TOYOTA QUALITY PRODUCTION SYSTEMS?

Lucky I am not a Toyota Japan or for that matter, Australia executive, or a dealer principle because DUMB salespeople wouldn't last five minutes in my world, they would be banished to used car sales, commission only.

Krystal,

Electric heating will become standard in all newer cars, the cabin heater in the C-HR is also electric and works within seconds of starting the car.

Electrical heating is a safety feature, especially on those mornings when the windscreen wants to fog up on the inside.

Hit the Start button, hit the front defrost switch and no fogged up windows when driving off a few seconds later.

GRANDFATHER MODE: (also known as school teacher or safety/risk manager mode)

Scalding hot water from old tech cars is very dangerous to have in the cabin in a crash.

A broken water heater line or radiator in the cabin may leak or spray many liters of scalding hot water at well over 100DegC inside the cabin area. These temperatures will cause immediate third-degree burns to any skin it touches and as a result, the scalds could kill you, or at least make a very long and painful burn recovery with skin grafts, and other associated scald burn problems such as secondary infections etc.

HAPPY MODE:

I love the car and all the safety features and the dealer and aftermarket accessories I have bought, with more on the way :)

PROFESSOR MODE:

I had to design and install my own USB Charger Port because there is no factory option. This is a real oversight in 2017!!!!

ANGRY MODE:

I am very angry that we are forced to use Toyota-link, a third party app which does not work with modern phones and has not been updated for 2 years. I am also angry that the GPS maps are 2 years out of date. I will be replacing the radio head unit with an Android unit that works with modern phones.

Haha, how embarrassed am I, I have been carting Floor rugs and carpet around yesterday and today whilst trying to make choices, the seats were down for that reason. I will vacuum, it annoys me too.
