i just came across this

REMUS 2.5" MUFFLER

... is this really a remus? i find it very hard to believe that the muffler could look like that and the tip be so polished... i'm doubting it is a true remus muffler, but if someone can verify that it is a remus, let me know... i might buy it :P

Looks genuine to me.

I wouldn't buy it though as it is designed for a Saab. remus makes mufflers to suit specific vehicles so you need to buy the model suited to your car. Check the link below:

Unknown to many is that Remus actually sell stainless steel tips.

If the muffler doesn't have Remus stamped into the bottom of it, only the tip is genuine.

Plus, my entire muffler is polished, only the ends and the pipe are coated in black paint.

That matches all the Remus pics I've seen ... looking at the weld where the tip meets the muffler itself, the welding looks pretty aftermarket, not to the quality you'd expect on a Remus.
