How to remove socket lid

I want to plug something into my 12 volt socket switch located in the small  centre console compartment however the lid does not stay open it is spring loaded and keeps ringing back and it is incredibly small space to try and work to remove the pin. Anyone know an easy way to get into here to remove the lid?

HAH! I know the pain.

Sorry I'm not here to answer the question. Just feel your pain. I haven't taken mine off but I've broken a USB cable with it and a charger (separately) hahaha.

I'm not sure if I follow this. You are trying to plug a power adapter into the socket and the socket lid prevents you from doing this ? Does the lid create a side clearance issue for the device you wish to plug in ?
I would be thinking then, if you wanted to remove the spring or the lid, you may need to remove the console to get access underneath it.
